The Document: FBI File 105-410 originated from a reported assassination threat made against Adolf Hitler in 1933. The investigation led to a tip that Hitler had escaped to Argentina. A source, identified as "JACK," claimed to have information about Hitler's whereabouts. According to "JACK," Hitler and his party had landed in Argentina approximately two and a half weeks after the fall of Berlin. They were met by six top Argentine officials, who provided them with pack horses and supplies. The party then traveled inland, eventually settling in a remote area. [JACK] provided the FBI with a description of Hitler's appearance, stating that he had shaved off his mustache and had a long beard on his upper lip. He also gave the FBI directions to locate Hitler, suggesting that they contact a hotel in San Antonio, Argentina, and look for a person who would be waiting for them. The FBI followed up on this lead, but were unable to verify the information. They checked the records of the Hollywood and Los Angeles police departments, as well as the Immigration and Naturalization Service, but found no evidence of Hitler's presence in the area.
