The FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) issues a quarterly review to educate employees about the Bureau's standards of conduct and to aid employees in steering clear of ethical pitfalls and other violations. This quarterly review is a result of a FOIA request filed by Mr. John Greenewald Jr. on January 1, 2017, seeking all employee emails and newsletters from January 1, 2017. The document is a response to Mr. Greenewald's request, dated May 24, 2021, with the FOIPA Request Number 1496762-000. The response includes 70 pages of records, which were previously processed and released pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The FBI determined that the enclosed records were responsive to Mr. Greenewald's subject and were previously processed and released. In an effort to provide Mr. Greenewald with responsive records as expeditiously as possible, the FBI is releasing documents from previous requests regarding his subject. The FBI considers Mr. Greenewald's request fulfilled, but notes that additional records potentially responsive to his subject may exist. If this release of previously processed material does not satisfy Mr. Greenewald's request, he may request an additional search for records. The FBI also notes that one or more of the enclosed records were transferred to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). Although the FBI retained a version of the records previously processed pursuant to the FOIA, the original records are no longer in their possession. If this release of the previously processed material does not satisfy Mr. Greenewald's request, he may file a FOIPA request with NARA at the following address: National Archives and Records Administration Special Access and FOIA 8601 Adelphi Road, Room 5500 College Park, MD 20740-6001. The FBI's response also includes information about record retention and disposal, which is carried out under supervision of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) according to Title 44 United States Code Section 3301, Title 36 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Chapter 12 Sub-chapter B Part 1228, and 36 CFR 1229.10. The FBI also notes that documents or information referred to other Government agencies were not included in this release. The FBI FOIPA Addendum provides additional information applicable to Mr. Greenewald's request.
