Bureau letter to Miami, dated October fourteenth, nineteen sixty-three, with attached Buffalo letter to Bureau, dated October eleventh, nineteen sixty-three, and three reels of tape containing Sicilian conversations recorded by BU 280‑G on October tenth, nineteen sixty-three. Enclosed for Buffalo are the aforementioned three reels of tape. Reel number one: “Reel contains a dialogue between Vincent Scro, Peter A. Magaddino, and Sam Ranga Tore concerning reducing pills and ether dietary aids. Subsequently, Peter A. and Stefano Magaddino begin to comment about Valachi’s testimony without making any pertinent remarks by either denying or confirming what was said by Valachi. Vincent Scro and Stefano Magaddino argue when the latter remarks, ‘They’re trying to get me.’ Scro replies that Magaddino places too much emphasis and worry on everything that is being said or alleged about him. Scro goes on to say that as a consequence of Stefano always commenting about these allegations, he is being constantly pestered by his wife and his mother‑in‑law wanting to know if Stefano is in any serious trouble. Stefano Magaddino becomes very upset. The Bureau (RM) records: Buffalo (Encl. 3) CS “61 Sub 3) … Miami. December sixteenth, nineteen sixty‑three, Sub‑ID angry and tells Scro never again to take a remark to him. Magaddino further states he has no alternative but to mention these matters at home because his wife begins to fret and cry each time she hears or sees his name mentioned in the news reports. He states that his wife follows these reports religiously and he is amazed to note that she manages to read and understand the newspapers, even though she cannot read English.
