The report lists multiple possible classifications—balloon, aircraft, astronomical—reflecting the uncertainty typical of the era’s investigations. The concluding remark emphasizes the clarity of the observation and the lack of movement, leading the analyst to note an astronomical interpretation, though the record also records insufficient data for a definitive evaluation.” This is what the public record looks like at its most ordinary.
