(2) That any action which the U-S might take to dissuade the Burmese Government from taking this action would be ineffective in view of the general belief that the U-S Government is supporting the K-M-T troops. (3) That since Mr. Nehru exerts considerable influence on Thakin Nu, it might be feasible for the Indian Government to approach the Burmese Government and attempt to convince it that the action would be unwise.
