This situation has not changed significantly in the past thirty years. In addition to the substantial proportion of total resources devoted to collection and processing—especially imagery and signals intelligence—the production effort concerned primarily or exclusively with the Soviet Union dominates the activities of virtually all components of the Community. The broad subject area that receives most attention is Soviet and Warsaw Pact military capabilities, including matters directly related thereto such as intelligence support for SALT, MBFR, and military‑economic and science‑and‑technology analyses.
