This is a reminder that when it feels like the world is heavy and hard, that’s exactly when we need to talk about the good things.
It’s not uncommon to think it’s insensitive or inappropriate to talk about good things when the world feels heavy and hard. I used to think that way.
But then I realized.
If we stop talking about the good things, all we’re left with is the hard things.
And I don’t know about you, but that’s not the world I want to live in.
This is why we practice.
Thursday:
A walk with my friend Cat.
I got the last butternut squash in the grocery store this afternoon! I thought there weren’t any, which was going to be a challenge because I’m making butternut squash soup for dinner tomorrow night, but then I turned the corner and there were 3 left - exactly the number I needed. (Related, if you have a trick for getting rid of the orange crust that forms on your hand after peeling and cutting butternut squash, will you please let me know?! I know I could wear gloves, but I didn’t and here we are.)
Sunflowers.
Now you? Tell me 3 good things?
Xo.
