At what point does a side hustle become too big to call it a side hustle?
I’m seriously asking. Six months ago, Opinion AI was sitting at $17,755 in annualized revenue. Today, that number is $206,673. Just look at this. It's around $190k in the last 180 days.
And the funny thing is, this isn’t even our main business. Our AI consulting work, where we build AI agents, test frontier models, and help companies use AI, has already crossed $4 million in ARR.
But what really gets me excited is what’s happening around us. I know people reporting $60K, $100K, even $130K in a single month, working on their own with a handful of AI agents. Those are exceptional revenue figures, of course, but just think about that for a moment.
I genuinely think we’re living through one of those rare moments when the opportunities are growing faster than people can even understand them. Every few weeks, another AI model arrives, something that used to cost a fortune becomes much easier, and suddenly there’s a whole new business someone can build around it.
And I’ve been seeing some pretty incredible ways people are making money from this. A few are so simple that I wish more people knew about them.
There’s a lot more money hiding in these new AI models than you might think
Claude Opus 5.5 can now help build beautiful product animations. GPT-6 Astra can work through complicated tasks for hours. OpenAI Dots, Grok Bot, Muse, and Hermes are making AI agents easier to use, while Kimi K3 makes certain large jobs much cheaper.
I have been looking at what people are actually doing with these tools, particularly the businesses that don’t require a huge team or millions of dollars to start.
Some are wonderfully strange. A fictional person selling real products. A tiny app charging people $5 a month. An AI agent finding money a company forgot to collect. Even a small shop built entirely around Christmas presents.
And these are only a few of the possibilities.
I’ve picked ten ideas that I find particularly interesting. I’ll show you how each works, where the money comes from, and how you can build the first version yourself.
The first one is probably the strangest of all.
