If you make money from a laptop, there is one AI question I think is worth taking seriously now:
How much of tomorrow’s work could be finished before you wake up?
Not another chatbot answer. Not 20 ideas sitting in a conversation. I mean actual work: research completed, leads organized, videos prepared, reports written, websites checked, customer feedback analyzed, drafts waiting for approval.
That idea sounded a little unrealistic even a few months ago.
With Claude Opus 5.5, it is becoming much more practical.
And I think this is where a lot of people are still looking in the wrong direction. The interesting opportunity is not using Claude for ten minutes to write something faster.
It is building a small system once, then letting Claude do that same useful work again and again.
Claude is starting to work after the conversation ends
Opus 5.5 was released on September 22. It has a 1-million-token context window, always-on thinking, and starts at medium effort by default. Anthropic prices it at $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens, and says typical workloads cost about 40% less than Opus 5.
Those numbers are nice.
But they are not the part I care about most.
Claude Code now has Skills for teaching Claude repeatable jobs, subagents for splitting work, Dynamic Workflows for much larger jobs, /goal
for keeping Claude working toward a measurable result, /loop
for repeating work, and /schedule
for running jobs in the cloud even when your laptop is closed.
That changes the basic relationship.
You do not have to sit there saying:
“Now do this.”
“Good. Now do the next part.”
“Check that again.”
“Continue.”
You can begin giving Claude a job instead.
And once that job produces something people already pay for, you have the beginning of a business workflow.
Below: the exact Opus 5.5 setup, 30 money-making workflows, copy-ready prompts, Skills, loops, schedules, cost tricks, and the simple system that turns Claude from a chatbot into work that keeps running after you close the laptop.

Forget agents, MCP, graphs and all the technical language for a minute.
A useful Claude workflow can be this simple:
