Potential is the word you use when the man in front of you isn’t exactly enough… the potential you see isn’t truly based on much because 9 times out of 10, that man hasn’t shared enough with you in order for you to gain a clear picture of who he’s been and where he’s trying to go.
It’s the man in your head that keeps you from seeing what the fuck is right in front of you. It’s the man he makes you believe in at times without really saying or doing much to be worthy.
Some men will use your natural ability to be patient and to give grace, and so much of your time gets wasted in these sorts of arrangements, and so maybe this will help open your eyes.
I’ve witnessed many women wait around for the man they envision, but he rarely shows up, and if you’ve ever been there… this is especially for you…
1. the man who’s “working on himself”
he’s been working on himself since you met. no therapy. no changes. just the phrase. a man who is actually growing doesn’t need to announce it. you’ll see it.
2. the man who’s perfect when it’s just the two of you
private dinners. long talks. a beautiful version of him that nobody else gets to meet. if his love only exists behind closed doors, it isn’t love. it’s a hiding place.
3. the man waiting for his life to come together
the job first. the money first. the apartment first. then you. i’ve never seen that list end. there’s always another thing ahead of you in line.
4. the man who apologizes beautifully
he cries. he explains. he says everything right. then he does it again. an apology without change is just a rehearsal for the next one.
5. the man who was hurt before
his ex did a number on him, so you get the bill. you are paying for a wound you didn’t cause, and he has no plans to heal it while you’re covering the cost.
What I need from you is to ensure that you save this and come back to it as many times as you need.
What I want for you is for every day after you finish reading this… to be filled with decision-making that helps you on your journey toward the type of relationship you’ve been dreaming of.
Here’s what I need you to understand….
A partner doesn’t need you to believe in him more than he believes in himself. He doesn’t need you to imagine him better. He shows you who he is, and that’s already enough… enough to make the right decision, and you can’t base your decisions on something in someone that isn’t real and hasn’t taken shape.
Men don’t get tired of wasting a woman’s time, so it’s important that you understand what you are involved in and whether it could ever fully align with what you’ve been seeking.
Everything you want in a partner is real; everything you’ve been searching for exists. You can’t see it if you’re looking at the wrong person.
So much of what it takes to attract real love begins with healing…
The healed version of you is less likely to give time to someone who requires you to wait on a version of them that will never show up…
If you are someone who has been moving in the direction of self-love and healing the wounds of your past but may feel stuck every now and then, I propose “ THE FULL RETURN TO YOURSELF “
Thank you for reading; take care.
