All of the new fall collections that dropped over the weekend reached me while I was in Mexico’s Nayarit Peninsula, so my prevailing thought to almost all of them was, “if you say so.”
Now I’m on a flight back home battling an inbox full of NYFW scheduling conflicts so I’m finally willing to concede that there may be a reality in which people do wear various heavy cloths on their bodies.
Premier among them are Colleen Allen’s first fall pieces, which editors have been waiting for since her pre-order event last fashion week. Her sparse, strong designs always set the tone for the following run of New York events: who’ll be wearing what to which occasion, exactly what a collection should mean for a season.
