In today’s newsletter, the Justice Department has charged 28 foreign nationals accused of voting illegally in California. Federal officials allege that more than 20,000 noncitizens may be registered to vote in the state. In Massachusetts, Republican lieutenant governor candidate Shawn Oliver suspended his campaign following an automobile accident involving allegations of impaired driving. Pollster Frank Luntz is questioning whether conventional polling adequately captures Republican enthusiasm, and much more.

And the Lord, He is the one who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8
You might have heard that the DOJ has filed charges against 28 foreign nationals for voting illegally in California. This is the type of story that’s routinely dismissed by Democrats and the media, who will claim that it’s such a small number as to be insignificant. Of course, that fails to take into account that these are just the ones who’ve been caught so far, despite California officials doing everything in their power to make it impossible to detect fraud, from banning voter ID to refusing to let federal officials see their voter rolls.
So why would the DOJ bother with 28 illegal voters? Because this is the way you build a much bigger case. ** As Jennifer Van Laar at Redstate.com explains**, this is evidence of the results of refusing to police voter rolls, and despite California’s refusal to cooperate, the DOJ believes it’s identified over 20,000 noncitizens on the state’s voter rolls, more than enough to tilt a close election.
When California officials predictably refused to do anything about this, the Trump Administration asked a federal court to order the state to set aside any mail-in ballots returned by those noncitizens.
And it could go even further: ** Here’s an explanation** of how California election officials who refuse to take action to prevent noncitizens from voting could be prosecuted for aiding and abetting criminal activity.
Shawn Oliver, the GOP nominee for Lt. Governor of Massachusetts, ** suspended his campaign** after a Saturday night rollover car accident allegedly involving driving while under the influence of alcohol.
This story is being described as throwing the GOP ticket into turmoil. Not to make light of it, but did the GOP really have a chance of winning the Lt. Governor’s race in Massachusetts? Besides which, Massachusetts voters are famous for not caring if the politicians they elect cause car accidents while driving drunk.
We mentioned this elsewhere in today’s newsletter, but it bears highlighting:
Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin made it very clear that if the Democrats get back into power, they intend to weaponize the legal system against anyone who worked with Trump in an effort to scare young conservatives out of getting involved in politics. This is the Party that claims to defend “democracy,” which they apparently define as only one set of political views being legal.
You can see the video of her shocking admission here, along with a must-read comment ** from the X account of Cynical Publius**.
An excerpt:
“I honestly do not understand how any American who is not already a literal Communist or a literal Jihadist could vote Democrat after hearing what Slotkin said below. This is LITERALLY totalitarianism. It’s not the fake ‘fascism’ the Left likes to accuse the Right of, it is the REAL THING. Undeniably. Irrefutably. This is a sitting member of Congress who was in the CIA saying that dissent from what she believes will result in imprisonment. This is straight out of Solzhenitsyn. Straight out of Orwell. This is something an early Nazi would have said in 1932 under the Weimar Republic.”
If this doesn’t make Republicans get off the couch and vote, then they’d better hope the beds in prison are comfy, because that’s where they might be sitting if the Democrats get their way.
