And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorry, nor crying. There shall be no more pain for the former things have passed away.
Revelation 21:4
President Trump announced that he had ** reversed a Pentagon decision** to livestream the execution of Fort Hood mass shooter Nidal Hasan. Trump said the execution by firing squad will take place as planned, but it will not be streamed.
The RNC scored ** a major election victory in the Supreme Court**. By a 7-2 vote, the SCOTUS upheld an FCC rule allowing political parties and joint fundraising committees to qualify for the lowest unit charge (LUC) for radio and TV advertising. A group of Democrats led by lawyer Marc Elias sued, claiming the lower ad rates should apply only to candidates. Republicans argued that the Democrats were trying to make it harder and more expensive for Republicans to reach voters, since they have to buy ad time rather than getting it free from the mainstream media like the Democrats do.
In today’s updates on the standoff with Iran, President Trump said he might have made a mistake in killing the top leaders of Iran because it’s made negotiations more difficult and time-consuming since nobody knows who’s in charge. He said he should have kept the “first-, second- and third-string leaders” in place “to beg for their lives.”
Trump also lashed out at an alleged unnamed leaker whom he said compromised a mission against Iran by B2 stealth bombers. He said Iran was waiting for them, but they arrived at 1 a.m. and “they never got to see them.” He said, “Somebody leaked, some sleazebag. They ought to go to jail. But they leaked that we were leaving at 12:07 from Missouri. And it was in the New York Times, CNN, they leaked the time we were leaving, the time we were arriving.” He added that this disclosed the mission, and that “leakers should be shot.” (And then, they would really leak.)
In good news for oil prices, Saudi Arabia announced that it’s working to restore oil flows through its East-West Pipeline that was damaged by Houthi attacks, and to Red Sea export terminals. The Saudis are ramping up oil deliveries to European buyers, and it should be arriving by late October.
