STORY #1: On Thursday afternoon, the story broke that the U.S. Department of Justice is seeking a criminal indictment against former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, whom you’ll remember as the “star” witness at the sham J6 Committee hearings with her second-hand story --- thoroughly debunked --- of President Trump grabbing the steering wheel of “The Beast” after speaking at his Capitol Hill rally and trying to force a Secret Service agent to drive him to the Capitol building, presumably to interfere with the official certification of electoral votes.
(Side note: Unlike many other news outlets, when we say “debunked,” we mean DEBUNKED. As in, the story was a fabrication, if not by Hutchinson, then by someone coaching her. For one thing, President Trump wasn’t even riding in “The Beast” that day, but in a different type of vehicle. And those who were actually there with Trump said later that it didn’t happen. Hutchinson’s story is backed up by precisely no one.)
As RedState reports, “Punchbowl reporter Laura Weiss reported Thursday that the DOJ reported evidence to a grand jury on Tuesday as it seeks an indictment of Hutchinson on charges that she lied to Congress during her June 28, 2022, testimony about the events surrounding January 6, 2021.” The Justice Department is expected to bring additional evidence and witnesses before the grand jury later this month.
This case is being brought by the DOJ Civil Rights Division, led by Harmeet Dhillon.
