In today’s newsletter, the war of words over Iran moved to the United Nations, where Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian answered President Trump’s threat of further military action. Argentina’s Javier Milei also used the UN stage to deliver a sweeping attack on the institution and its record. Back home, we have updates on two Democratic political figures facing controversies, and a new analysis challenging claims about violence against transgender Americans.

They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna! “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the king of Israel!” John 12:13
The House Judiciary Committee has just released explosive testimony about the FBI’s surveillance of members of Congress, starting even before “Special Counsel” Jack Smith assumed the leadership of the (sham) investigation into President Trump. At least one agent who was directed by Heads of Swamp to obtain phone records was not even informed that numerous Republican members of the U.S. Congress were on the list of targets, including Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, who now, by wonderful coincidence, happens to chair that very committee. (Jordan was then the ranking member, as Democrats were in control of the committees, which they will again be if Democrats regain a majority in Congress. Are you listening, voters?)
Retired DOJ Inspector General Special Agent Brian Burnett testified under oath that he “unwittingly” obtained long-distance phone records for Rep. Jordan, to be used in Smith’s “Arctic Frost” investigation of President Trump. Much more Friday.
Ericka Lomick, the Democratic candidate for the District 93 (Tarrant County) Texas House seat, ** has suspended her campaign** after questions arose about whether a previous felony conviction for mortgage fraud makes her ineligible to serve.
Also, while Democrats continue to rail about the Epstein files, it’s worth noting that the vice-chair of the Latino Caucus of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin (and campaign manager for one candidate) is ** a registered sex offender** who was busted for having sex with a teenage boy in an alley.
He’s now been fired from the campaign manager job with the candidate vowing to enforce a “more thorough vetting process.” We should have one of those for our politicians.
Dolly Parton might have been the most beloved person on Earth when she passed away recently, but the man who announced that news, her nephew Bryan Seaver, could be on a campaign to become the most reviled. Dolly’s estate ** has asked a judge for a restraining order** to keep him away from its employees and business dealings. They accuse Seaver of thinking he’s become an international celebrity since Dolly died, and of “terrorizing conduct” and threatening messages. One message submitted to the court sounded like extortion, reading, “I’m going to set up a podcast dedicated to ruining Dolly’s brand partnerships and telling the violations these people have done on us. It’s going to be great. Or f——— pay me.”
The request asks the judge to bar Seaver from interfering with the estate’s business relationship and from talking to its employees or coming within 1,000 feet of them. Seaver has yet to respond.
It’s probably to be expected that when someone like Dolly, who was very wealthy but had no children, dies, some relatives will come out of the woodwork demanding a piece. Frankly, we’ve never understood why anyone would feel entitled to money earned by someone else, but then, we’re not Democrats.
Much of the transgender movement has been based on obviously false premises, from the idea that people can change their genders with chemicals and surgery to the notion that men have no physical advantages over women in sports to absurd nonsense about pregnant men or children having the maturity to consent to having their bodies mutilated and understand what it will mean.
Well, add another lie to the pile that forms the trans movement’s foundation: Inspired by widely-repeated claims from the Human Rights Campaign that there is an “epidemic of violence” against trans people in the US, ** City Journal analyzed** the actual crime statistics. It turned out that the murder rate of trans people is actually LOWER than that of the general population, and is trending downward. Trans people are most likely to be killed by someone of their own race, and the leading motive for their murders is violence by their intimate partners.
One of the authors of the report said their research was so irrefutable that even the Boston Globe just had to admit that the “genocide” of trans people is nonexistent and violence against them is dropping under Trump, not rising.
Bottom line: Claiming to identify as a victim of genocide doesn’t make you an actual victim of genocide. Who could’ve predicted that?
When Sarah Palin warned that allowing government health officials to have power over end-of-life care would lead to “death panels” deciding who was allowed to keep living based on budget considerations, she was roundly ridiculed by the media. Only a relatively few years later, “assisted suicide” programs in other nations are making shocking decisions in which they play God by deciding who gets to live or die, mostly die.
** The latest heartbreaking example** comes from Canada, where 83-year-old Christian grandmother, Brigitte Stegemann was euthanized under the nation’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) law. This was done despite her family’s objections and Stegemann crying that she didn’t understand what they told her they would do (they couched it as “giving her medicine that would end her pain” -- no kidding) and saying she didn’t want to die. This sounds as if MAID should stand for “Murder Assistance in Dying.”
And on the opposite end of life, we had the soulless ghouls in the government of the Netherlands who issued a report approving of the euthanizing of a nearly two-year-old toddler with severe disabilities. ** It was done despite doctors objecting** that the child could have improved with different medication.
This was the first killing of a child under a newly-expanded age limit for euthanasia for children ages 1-12, if their parents agree. We’ve argued for years that allowing abortion creates a slippery slope that undermines respect for the sanctity of human life. Liberals dismissed that, even as they moved the line for performing abortions later and later, until we recently had women cheering as a woman Governor of Massachusetts signed a law allowing the “abortion” (i.e., murder) of babies right up to minute of birth. How long will it be before those same cheering monsters are pushing for the US to follow the Netherlands in “aborting” inconvenient children with special needs up until the age of 12?
UN General Assembly meetings are normally pompous propaganda events, but this week has brought us a few rare highlights. Of course, there was President Trump’s highly consequential speech that was more State of the Union then diplomatic softsoap, but there have been other moments worth noting such as these:
** Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian followed Trump by denying that Iran is a terrorist state** and accusing the US and Israel of being bullies and terrorists who attacked innocent Iranians. He said, “We have only defended ourselves. We are not terrorists.” (This speech sounds like it was written by Hasan Piker.)
He went on, “Yes, they did hit us, but we did not bend the knee. We did not bow our head.” He said that Iran is “not afraid of fighting” and would defend the country “until our last breath.” (Trump would probably accept those terms.) He also accused the US of killing innocent civilians by striking a sports hall in Lamerd on day one of Operation Epic Fury. CENTCOM replied that they did not strike Lamond or anyplace within 30 miles of it.
Pezeshkian also doubled down on keeping Iran’s nuclear program, claiming Iran is seeking “peaceful nuclear power.” We don’t know which joke is funnier: that one, or the “We’re not terrorists; you are” bit.

Argentina’s highly-successful libertarian President Javier Milei gave a speech that probably had Trump asking, “Why didn’t I say that?” Milei ripped the UN apart to its face, calling it a “useless organization whose only purpose is to sustain a caste of fatally arrogant parasites masquerading as well-intentioned bureaucrats.”
Milei blasted the UN for its responses to the “gender agenda, environmental extremism and unchecked immigration,” as well as the COVID-19 pandemic. He said, “Where some allege a public health policy error, we see a global experiment in social control disguised as science. And when a state wearing public health blinkers deprives its population of the right to work, to receive an education and to bid farewell to their dead, this results in millions of avoidable deaths. There is a word for it: genocide.”
(We eagerly await the cries of protest from leftists who apply the word “genocide” to everything that they see as an obstacle to their agenda.)
He added, “The alleged defenders of human rights have sheltered bloodthirsty dictatorships and regimes that stone women in the streets; they have systematically voted against Israel while remaining silent in the face of Islamic terrorism and the genocide of Christians in Africa.”
Wow, it’s like he can read our minds! ** Click the link for more**, but pop some popcorn first.
A federal ** judge has ordered** the White House to restore access to banned news organizations that President Trump blocked.
Wednesday, President Trump ** greeted Chinese President Xi Jinping** as he arrived at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland for two days of meetings. This is a follow-up to their meeting in May that resulted in sweeping new agreements on everything from rare earth minerals to the sale of US farm products to China.
