Original thinking for any severe has been 5-10 p.m. Eastern since yesterday, however, storms are already firing rapidly ahead of the cold front as of 2:40 p.m. & approaching the area.
Let’s go ahead & move that timing up for any severe to 3-8 p.m., throw the models out with any timing & do now-casting from here on out. From the current radar standpoint, it is obvious there is about an acceleration of the front & associated severe risk by 1.5-2 hours.
Still looks like a highly broken line (to possibly two) along & just ahead of the cold front with coverage averaging 30-40 %.
SLIGHT RISK is up for the area. Not everyone will get a storm or even any rainfall, but where storms do occur, risk of severe weather will be there. A couple to few severe gusts, hail & risk of brief EF0 spin-up as colder air aloft & better Bulk Shear overspread the area into the evening hours.
