LOS ANGELES — The Federal Bureau of Investigation on Monday added Satinderjeet Singh, known as “Goldy Brar,” to its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list and announced a $1 million reward for information leading to his capture. The agency said Singh and the imprisoned gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi are charged with ordering the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British Columbia.
“Singh is a dangerous individual. We have made it a priority to apprehend him, which is why we are adding him to the FBI’s notorious top 10 most wanted list,” said Patrick Grandy, assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles field office.
“Singh is known to reside in California and various parts of Canada,” Grandy said. Pressed by reporters, Grandy declined to give precise details of Singh’s whereabouts. He said Singh is alleged to have ripped off Mexican cartels in Los Angeles and to have a presence in Western Canada.
The federal indictment identifies Nijjar only by his initials. Grandy cited the high-profile killing from the podium. “Bishnoi and Singh are charged with ordering that assassination, which occurred when two gunmen shot and killed Hardeep Singh Nijjar after he left a Sikh temple in Surrey, British Columbia on June 18th, 2023,” he said.
Beside him stood Lisa Moreland, deputy commissioner for federal policing with the RCMP. “Goldy Brar and his network have wreaked devastating havoc to so many lives and families for years,” she said, “through high profile murders, shootings, death threats, extortions, arsons, drug trafficking, and more.”
“His addition to this very public list means the world just became a whole lot smaller,” Moreland said. She urged “those who know Goldy, those around him, and those protecting him to call police.”
“This man holds no loyalty, nor should others feel any loyalty towards him,” she said.
“The last Canadian suspect to hold a place on the top 10 was Ryan Wedding,” Moreland said. Wedding, the former Canadian Olympic snowboarder accused of running a Sinaloa Cartel-linked trafficking network that moved about 60 metric tons of cocaine a year from Southern California into Canada, is now jailed in Los Angeles awaiting trial.
The reward for Singh is twenty times the $50,000 the FBI offered in July, when he was among 37 defendants charged across three indictments in Operation Hard Ball, a years-long investigation by the FBI, the RCMP and the Los Angeles Police Department into India-based crime syndicates.
On July 7, police arrested 24 defendants in California, Indiana, Georgia, Canada and Spain, and seized about 1,000 kilograms of cocaine, a kilogram of heroin, $40,000 in cash and a dozen firearms.
The Bishnoi syndicate, prosecutors allege, paid for its violence with cocaine, some of it taken by force.
“From March of 2024 through July of 2025, the Bishnoi enterprise is alleged to have stolen roughly 520 kilos of cocaine in the greater Los Angeles area from rival drug trafficking gangs,” Grandy said. According to the indictment, Bishnoi and Singh oversaw the transport of 49 kilograms of cocaine that was intercepted in Redlands, California, in November 2024. The load was headed for Canada on long-haul semi-trucks.
Grandy said Operation Hard Ball was “the result of a years long federal investigation into Indian crime syndicates that engage in racketeering, targeted killings, shootings, extortions, and the trafficking bulk quantities of narcotics across international borders and other crimes around the world whose impact is especially felt in the Indian diaspora.”
He described Bishnoi as “a gangster imprisoned in India who was a self-styled university student leader before tiring of politics and allegedly turning himself and his followers to crime.” Bishnoi, 33, projected “a public image as a deeply religious patriot” to recruit followers, Grandy said. “In private, Bishnoi presided over a sweeping criminal enterprise that spanned multiple continents.” From an Indian prison, Grandy said, Bishnoi used “contraband cell phones and other voiceover internet protocol devices smuggled into his jail cell” to direct crimes worldwide. Singh was one of the lieutenants to whom Bishnoi delegated day-to-day control. “According to the indictment, Singh spoke for Bishnoi and directed the actions of members and associates of the Bishnoi enterprise worldwide,” Grandy said.
“This criminal gang engaged in violent activity in each country in which it operated, including the United States,” Grandy said. The gang built a climate of fear among Indian diaspora communities and “exploited this fear to extort its victims, hyping their violence and criminality through online videos and internet posts,” he said.
Ottawa designated the Bishnoi group a terrorist entity in September 2025. The indictment makes no reference to former prime minister Justin Trudeau’s September 2023 allegation that agents of the Indian government were behind Nijjar’s killing.
The other Hard Ball indictments describe the same cartel-supplied trafficking routes Brar and Bishnoi allegedly ran, at industrial scale.
A Vancouver man, Ravinder Singh Dhanda, 57, known as “Randy,” “Rolex” and “John Wick,” is charged under the federal kingpin statute with running a smuggling network that moved bulk cocaine and methamphetamine for trafficking organizations in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Prosecutors allege the drugs were stashed in hubs across greater Los Angeles and the Inland Empire, including West Covina, Ontario, Fontana and Perris, then hidden in long-haul semi-trucks, sometimes in farm trucks, and driven to the Canadian border. The indictment cites 430.1 kilograms of cocaine shipped between July 2023 and November 2024.
The Dhanda indictment also alleges corruption at the border. Gurtej Singh Smagh, 43, of Creston, British Columbia, known as “Simba,” is charged with gathering information on the timing and location of border inspections from a person working for the Canada Border Services Agency.
On January 20, 2025, prosecutors allege, Dhanda, Smagh and Jaskarn Baghri, 50, of Surrey met an undercover agent in South Surrey to plan future loads out of the United States. At that meeting, Dhanda said he intended to start a new “cartel.”
A third syndicate, led from an Indian prison by Bishnoi’s former associate and now rival Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, is alleged to have more than 1,000 members worldwide. In June 2025, police intercepted a load its network tried to ship: 99.2 kilograms of cocaine and a kilogram of heroin, bought in bulk by a Vancouver man, Garinder Deo, 40, known as “Doctor,” “Rocket” and “Ritz Carlton.”
Singh faces charges in Los Angeles of racketeering conspiracy, extortion conspiracy and attempted extortion, and conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.
This is a developing story. More to come.
