New York City politicos have questioned for years whether New York City Council Majority Whip Kamillah Hanks was an undercover Republican. Earlier today, her husband, Kevin Barry Love, may have given the confirmation.
He endorsed Republican Sam Pirozzolo in his re-election bid for New York State Assembly over Democrat Staten Island attorney Matthew Mobilia.
Early response was hostile to Hanks.
"Kamillah should really resign because she doesn't represent the people on the North Shore. We are proud Democrats. She is the husband of that crazy old white real estate developer," said Gloria Davis, a North Shore resident.
The consensus was the same from the other side of the aisle.
"Kevin didn't know when to keep his mouth shut, even when he used to be a Republican before Kamillah decided to run in 2017. All I know is that there's nothing more fun than watching Democrat-on-Democrat political crime a couple of weeks before the election," said a prominent Staten Island Republican.
