I joined the Bad Faith hosted by former Bernie spokesperson Briahna Joy Gray, who has made her fair share of critics and enemies with her blistering critique of the Democratic Party and even DSA members, including AOC and Mamdani.
In this episode, I was a willing foil for her arguments, and her audience, which overwhelmingly rejects the Democratic Party, and many advocate for the Green Party as a viable alternative. We have very specific disagreements, but we share many criticisms of Democratic leadership, its corporate donors, and the limitations of “harm reduction” politics.
That being said, I refuse to believe that voting Green Party in 2020 or 2024 is the answer. Jill Stein emerges as a cicada every 4 years but hasn’t created the coalition needed to challenge the corporate duoply. She’s also a deeply compromised candidate. Also, harm reduction in the short term and an attempt to take over the Democratic Party and move it to the left, to me, is a preferred strategy for this hellscape that we all must endure.
Also, if Kamala Harris were President right now, we wouldn’t have the resurgence of measles, ICE agents killing people in the suburbs, a failed war in Iran, and a trade war with our allies. Many people would still be alive.
Still, this was an informative debate and conversation even though Gray’s audience thinks I’m a naive sellout - lol!
Give us a watch!
