We have no official opinion of whether data centers are good or bad for a community; we suspect it could go either way depending on who built them. But the recent sudden uprising amid the public (especially online) shows the classic hallmarks of a propaganda campaign by someone who would prefer that the US fall behind in high tech and Artificial Intelligence, while some other nation – say, China – pulls ahead.
So color us unsurprised that an investigation by X’s Security Team exposed a massive network of fake Chinese X accounts involved in influence operations. It includes a bot farm of approximately 200,000 accounts, 200 of which were posting anti-AI data center messages. ** Check out the examples at the link** and see how many of these cartoons and memes have turned up in your social media feed, “feed” being an eerily appropriate word. We can’t help wondering how many of these anti-AI memes were created in China by AI.
Following a favorable ruling by the Supreme Court, the White House is moving forward with implementing President Trump’s order that the DHS create lists of eligible voters who are US citizens and the US Post Office ** create rules to ensure that only they receive mail-in ballots**.
The SCOTUS rejected a lawsuit by 24 states that were trying to block it, finding that they had suffered no harm since it hadn’t even been launched yet. They could still challenge it if they can prove it did cause any harm, but that has to come first. Former White House deputy counsel Gene Hamilton said that if states could obtain a legal stay on federal policies based on the possibility of future harm, his organization would have a field day challenging every federal action.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta, who led the lawsuit, ** criticized the Supreme Court** for letting Trump “try to make it harder for Americans to vote.” Or even worse for California Democrats, make it harder for non-Americans to vote.
Incidentally, isn’t it a coincidence that the plaintiffs who are suing to stop Trump from verifying that mail-in ballots only go to eligible voters are all the blue states plus the District of Columbia?
Surprise Twist! An Obama-appointed judge in Massachusetts put a 14-day restraining order on Trump’s order, temporarily blocking it despite the Supreme Court already approving it. Apparently, the only thing that “Supreme” refers to these days is Diana Ross.
After an investigation, the Texas Roadhouse restaurant chain ** declared a Facebook post** claiming that staffers at Texas Roadhouse and Logan’s Roadhouse tamper with the food of black customers to be “100% a hoax.” It sparked outrage and calls for boycotts. But both Texas Roadhouse and Snopes.com found no evidence that the claim was real. It came from an account under the name “Nancy Smith” that was created, changed names, then was deleted. Wait, you mean you CAN’T believe everything you see on the Internet?...
Behold the Wonders of Socialism! LA Mayoral candidate Nithya Raman posted a photo boasting of how she helped make a neighborhood safer by adding a crosswalk. It ** took nearly a year to paint some yellow stripes** on the street and everyone noticed that the deep cracks in the asphalt were still there.
To be fair, painting over actual problems is one of the few things that socialists do well.
THIS...Is CNN! CNN apologized after ** mistakenly using a photo** of a Las Vegas Dolly Parton impersonator to illustrate the announcement of her death.
Also, due to a technical outage, on Monday, CNN went off the air for about 30 minutes. We bet it got their highest ratings in years.
A federal judge struck down a reworked Texas law banning some drag shows as unconstitutional under the First Amendment. The judge ruled it overly broad on defining nudity, and that it could be used to ban provocative costumes at conventions and even Elvis and Dolly Parton impersonators. Personally, if it bans men from appearing as a provocatively-dressed Dolly Parton, we’re all for it. ** More details here**.
