Morning all. Happy Saturday. Got a few things for you today…
Cook moved 18 House races towards the Dems yesterday - yes 18! Their new, updated House handicapping chart is below. It’s great to see five of our most important races where we went in early and hard - Bohannan (IA-1), Garriott (IA-3), Bennett (NJ-7), Brooks (PA-7), Stelson (PA-10) - get upgraded to Lean Dem.
But this chart also reminds us how much remains in play, and why we need to keep working as hard as we can to take as much away from them as possible.
We’ve done a lot of great interviews of our intrepid battleground candidate and state party leaders in recent days - including Mary Peltola, Josh Turek, Roy Cooper, Paige Cognetti, Bob Brooks, Sarah Trone Garriott, and more - which you can find here. No better way to dive deep into the election this weekend than watching and listening to those on the front lines!
I want to share some of the demographic breakouts from the Pew poll that we reviewed yesterday. Note that Trump is at 21% approval with Hispanics, and 22% approval with 18-29 year olds. As ugly as it gets!
Mary Peltola just keeps bringing it:
While it is still early there are five states so far where Dems are doing very well in the early vote. All data via TargetEarly:

New Jersey:

We will have time to go in depth about Trump’s desperate and traitorous decision to lift sanctions on Russian diesel and put America squarely on the side of Russia against Ukraine and the West yesterday, but let’s review two noted reactions this morning. Here’s Republican Rep. Mike McCaul, quoted in an excellent CNBC, article, who has chaired both the Homeland and Foreign Affairs committees in the House:
“Through the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act, we gave the president significant authorities and leverage against China and Russia to bring Putin’s war to an end with a negotiated settlement,” Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, said in an X post. “Unfortunately, while I understand the desire to bring down diesel prices, I am concerned the lifting of sanctions on Russian oil will only fund the Kremlin’s war machine—emboldening more violence and destruction, as we have seen in recent days,” McCaul said.
And here’s President Zelenskyy this morning:
Yes, it is time to take the keys away from our desperate, addled, corrupt, and traitorous leader by….
