Whenever we see polls showing how many people want Democrats in charge of things, we are agog at the idea of there being that many masochists. How else to explain why people would actually want more of what the Democrats deliver everywhere they’re in charge?
When you hear the term “deep blue city,” what do you think of? A clean, safe urban environment filled with happy families? Or crime, drugs, homelessness and filth; a place where families stay home and away from the windows lest they be struck by random drive-by bullets? When Democrats try to deflect that by pointing to high crime rates in red states, inevitably, it turns out that virtually all the crime is in the blue cities inside otherwise safe red states.
For some reason we’ve never understood, Democrats love releasing criminals back into the streets, and Democrat voters will keep voting for more of it, even though they have to use mail-in ballots because they’re afraid of being robbed, raped or shot if they leave their homes to go vote. If you think that’s hyperbole, ** check out this article by author Michael Snyder** that recounts just a few of the latest shocking examples of Democrat judges and prosecutors turning violent criminals loose to do it again and again. Then remember, they only have the power to release them because the people who suffer the consequences just keep voting to let them do it again and again.
Come to think of it, a masochism pandemic might be the only possible explanation that blue cities continue to exist.

We won’t comment on what she said, since we assume nobody paid attention because she’s a woman. As Kyle Becker at the Redstate link notes, these are the same people who for years have been dressing up in “Handmaid’s Tale” robes to protest fictional oppression of women by the Trump Administration, and they’re now eagerly covering up for real to show solidarity with actual oppressors of women. Between this and men in women’s sports and restrooms, is there any right that women have left that the so-called party of women’s rights has yet to flush down the non-binary toilet?
In the latest Democrat dispute over which identity group is the most oppressed, video has surfaced of Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed speaking at a CAIR event and claiming that Muslims built America. This is based on a previous false claim that slaves built America and that half the slaves were Muslims.
As ** Amy Curtis of Townhall.com notes**, actual historians believe that no more than 20% of slaves came from Muslim regions. However, the African slave traders who captured and sold them were heavily Muslim. In fact, that’s still going on in some Muslim nations. If El-Sayed really cared about this issue, fighting the actual ongoing slavery seems like a more productive way to spend his time than fabricating American offenses from 200 years ago. But that would require being honest and actually doing something.
Speaking of Democrats becoming the party of insanity, a Biden-appointed federal judge just ruled against the DOJ in a lawsuit to stop biological males from competing in girls’ sports in California. The DOJ will appeal, but in the meantime, the physical danger to girls and the theft of their trophies and scholarships will continue, just as the party of “women’s rights” apparently thinks it should. ** More details here**, along with a phrase that should be obvious: “Biden-appointed judge Cynthia Valenzuela did not adjudicate the merits of the DOJ’s case...”
If you are a patriotic American and a fan of the NFL (and being both is getting harder and harder to do these days), this article by Tim O’Brien at PJ Media ** is a must-read**. It’s about how the NFL presents a traditional, patriotic facade while behind the scenes, it’s a hotbed of woke DEI pandering and reverse racism and sexism. And now, it’s culminated in the most ridiculous, least wanted concept in history: male NFL cheerleaders.
Unlike many media outlets, we normally don’t cover the day-to-day details of sensational court trials. But this is a major development: Tuesday, ** a Utah judge ruled **that prosecutors had presented enough evidence to continue with all seven charges against the man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk. This means the death penalty is still a possibility. Those charges are aggravated murder; felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury; two counts of obstruction of justice; two counts of witness tampering; and committing a violent offense in the presence of a child.
Good, now let’s move forward to this trial with no more delays. One reason we don’t cover such things on a daily basis is that we simply don’t have the stomach for some of the defense attorneys’ arguments, such as requesting that the murder charges be down-graded to second degree (it was a political assassination with a sniper rifle in front of thousands of people) or that he didn’t endanger other people because it was a clear shot above the crowd. That’s an argument that your client is a cautious, professional assassin. It shouldn’t be used as a reason to go easy on him.
This past Saturday, gunmen opened fire on a crowd in Chicago’s South Side, killing one man and injuring 14 other people. ** Just 12 minutes later in Trenton, New Jersey**, unknown gunmen launched a similar mass shooting, killing two and injuring nine others. We ask you to join us in praying for the victims to recover and for the police to find those responsible.
While the shootings were tragic, the response by local political leaders was infuriating. In Chicago, where Saturday’s shooting barely topped a June mass shooting of 14 as the worst this year (so far), Mayor Brandon Johnson immediately pinned blame on the gun. He declared, “We remain steadfast in our work to break these cycles of trauma by continuing to stop the flow of guns into our communities and investing in the resources that help prevent violence before it occurs. My administration will continue to show up for those impacted by these violent acts by providing access to victim services and mental health support.”
Meanwhile, New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill posted on X, “I’m thinking of the families who lost loved ones, those who were injured, and the Trenton community.”
Question: How is that different from conservatives saying that they are sending “hopes and prayers” to the victims, which liberals ridicule as useless cliches, other than the fact that we sincerely believe that prayers help. If Sherrill truly were thinking of the families affected by crime, then why does she fight so hard to keep New Jersey as a “sanctuary state,” welcoming criminals and blocking federal agents from arresting them? If she’d let the feds and local police do their jobs, she wouldn’t have so many victims to think of.
Illinois is also a sanctuary state, and both Trenton and Chicago are “sanctuary cities.” They maintain “justice” systems that prioritize releasing criminals into communities over protecting communities from criminals.
Johnson blames such shootings on “the flow of guns into our communities,” as if the guns were rushing in and shooting people all by themselves, while he goes to the mat to continue the flow of criminals into his communities.
At this writing, no suspects in either shooting have been arrested, so we can’t assess motives. But it’s a sure thing that whoever the shooters are, their crimes were made easier by the fact that, aside from two brief periods in 1990 and 2014 when acting mayors filled in for mayors who died or were forced out of office, Trenton has been run by Democrats since at least 1947. And Chicago’s last Republican mayor left office in 1931.
But that mayor was known to be connected to Al Capone, so today, he’d probably be a Democrat.
