In the latest development with Iran since the Labor Day weekend, Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen attacked Saudi oil fields, injuring about 70 civilians. Pakistan’s Prime Minister expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia, calling the attack “dastardly” and “cowardly.”
The Trump Administration ** is increasing pressure** on Iran by preparing a proposed UN resolution demanding that Iran comply with inspections of its nuclear facilities. Iran responded by threatening retaliation if the UN adopts the measure. Nothing says “We’re not trying to build nuclear weapons” like threatening retaliation against the UN for asking to see if you’re building nuclear weapons.
President Trump said that once the war with Iran ends, gas prices will fall quickly and could be below $2 a gallon. Let’s hope that happens well before the November elections.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent agreed with Trump’s prediction, saying that the “underlying economy is very strong. Job growth is strong. Wage growth is strong” and “Americans, on average, are breaking even. Working-class Americans at the bottom of the wage spectrum are doing a little better than inflation, but we don’t believe that that is acceptable.” But the economy is being hampered by high gas prices, Bessent said that once the constriction of the oil supply eases, prices could drop to as low as $40 a barrel, less than half the current price.
Backing up Bessent’s assertions about the economy, ** a new analysis** found that the unemployment rate among young non-college graduates is at one of its lowest points in 23 years.
Maybe the reason the Democrats think the economy is so bad is that the only people who can’t get jobs are socialists who went deep into debt getting useless degrees.
Seattle elected an inexperienced white elitist socialist as their mayor, so how’s that working out for them? Aside from all the fleeing business owners, there’s also been a rise in crime since Mayor Katie Wilson turned off surveillance cameras, claiming they were a “primary threat to immigrants” (translation: ICE might use them to locate violent illegal aliens.)
The latest: There were three shootings in 24 hours in one neighborhood and Wilson’s acting police chief sparked outrage by referring to the shooters by the woke term, “** trigger pullers**.” That’s the firearms version of “birthing people.”
While we understand that they wouldn’t want to offend any members of our beloved mass shooters community, this seems to us to be a woke faux pas. After all, it assumes that the shooting was the responsibility of the person who pulled the trigger, when all good liberals know that shootings are caused by the guns themselves, not the people using them.
The Lindsay Clancy trial in which a woman who is accused of killing her three young children pleaded insanity due to postpartum depression and overmedication, ended in a mistrial due to a hung jury. Reportedly, only one juror refused to vote to acquit her. It’s not clear what will happen next or whether the DA will even attempt a retrial, but we hope that before anything else happens, her attorney will be disbarred for his ** shocking comments on the courthouse steps** that seemed to encourage Clancy’s deranged supporters to target the juror for refusing to compromise his conscience.

After a military judge inexplicably threw out alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s 2007 confession, making it inadmissible in court, federal prosecutors have ** decided not to appeal that decision** and to proceed to trial without the confession as evidence. They say it’s taken so long to get a trial date of June 5, 2028 (nearly 27 years after the attack) that they don’t want to risk delaying justice for the victims’ families any longer.
As to why there has been a delay that long, that is as inexplicable as why the confession was thrown out. The monsters who perpetrated 9/11 certainly didn’t believe in delays, reprieves, due process rights or appeals when they were handing out instant death sentences on nearly 3,000 innocent people.
