Healthcare Investors Are Rewriting the ROI Playbook from Cost-Cutting to Cash Flow
So I found this article about healthcare investors and how they're shifting their focus from just cutting costs to actually generating new revenue. Apparently, AI is showing some pretty impressive returns, with some investors reporting as much as 100 times their initial investment. This is a big deal because past healthcare tech waves were mostly sold on their potential to save money, but it turns out that's not the only way to create value. One of the key takeaways is that investors are now looking for companies that can demonstrate a clear path to increasing revenue, not just reducing expenses.
I’ve been making oat‑and‑yogurt pancakes nonstop, and they’re super simple and kid‑friendly. The batter mixes oat flour, a bit of all‑purpose flour, baking powder, soda, salt, two eggs, Greek yogurt, oat milk, and vanilla—just whisk together and fold in the dry mix. Cook the scoops in butter on medium heat for 3–4 minutes each side until golden and puffed.
While the pancakes finish, sauté pitted cherries in a tablespoon of butter until they’re soft and jammy; no extra sugar needed. Serve the pancakes with a pat of butter, the warm cherries, and a drizzle of maple syrup if you like.
You can swap the cherries for any in‑season fruit, and the recipe scales nicely for two to three people. Enjoy!
Hey, so I know you've been looking for some ways to cook veggies instead of eating them raw, especially with the cyclospora outbreak. I've got 13 recipes to share with you. First up, there's broccolini that gets charred in a hot pan with shallots and balsamic, then tossed with lemon and pecorino. Next is zucchini seared with browned butter, hot honey, and whipped feta-labneh. You also have green beans tossed in a butter-dijon-lemon sauce with lemony panko for crunch.
Then there's roasted sprouts with parmesan and a spicy aioli, and fresh peas and shredded zucchini folded into a goat cheese batter for crispy fritters. Carrots get blanched and charred on the grill with a garlicky dill-feta sauce, while eggplant rounds are fried with vodka and finished with fried rosemary and honey. Green beans also get charred with a smoky red-pepper-tomato sauce and toasted almonds.
Beets are roasted and layered over whipped goat cheese with a warm za'atar oil, and cabbage wedges get roasted with parmesan and a garlicky tahini sauce. There's also a recipe for cooked cabbage and carrot rolls with sautéed tofu and mushroom, and an arugula sauce with orzo and ricotta. Radishes get slow-cooked in butter and tossed with a miso-parmesan pasta sauce and crispy fried garlic.

New Guided Bootcamp for Busy People Who Want to Get Private
A new guided bootcamp called Lock-it-Down is designed to help people improve their online privacy. It's a 3-session live program with demonstrations, Q&A, and supported work sessions. Participants will learn how to set up secure private email, use a password manager with strong unique passwords, and shop online with virtual credit cards. The bootcamp is led by Glenn Meder from Privacy Academy and registration ends this Sunday, July 26th. Early pricing is available for a limited time, and it's recommended for those who want to get their online house in order. The bootcamp starts mid-August and is a more interactive alternative to self-paced courses.
Keep going. You’ve heard me say this before, and also sometimes we get tired and we need to rest.
The other day, I was on the phone with my brother, catching up as one does. I was talking about getting things in order before we go on vacation next week, and he asked me if I would be taking a break from posting on Substack while I’m away. (Can you imagine?!)
I’m not. Taking a break, I mean.
But it got me thinking.
The truth is, I haven’t taken a break from posting on Substack since January 2025. Five posts each week for more than 18 months is upwards of 375 posts, without a break.
With the world cup concluding, soccer is on everyone’s minds. Recently a colleague mentioned that they would not let their kid play soccer because of risk of concussions. I was stunned. Soccer is a beautiful sport.
What about football?
Hell no.
Skiing?
Too much ACL risk
Cycling?
Too much crash risk
What sports are acceptable?
Tennis, golf, fencing
I think my colleague is not unique, and he captures the growing epidemic of poor risk perception running rampant these days among academics and other white collar parents.
Allow me to defend the proposition that kids should be free to pursue any and
