You probably can’t afford these nannies
Movies would like you to believe nannies are carrying magical bags, refurbishing curtains into dresses, or donning prosthetic noses to trick their ex-wife into letting them see the kids. In reality, they are in England in white gloves and tiny brown hats, studying how to duck and weave away from paparazzi while pushing a stroller. Norland College is the premier early-education school for nannies and au pairs for the ultrawealthy.
Berkshire Hathaway’s Rare Spending Spree Turns Heads on Wall Street
A strong earnings report reveals that new CEO Greg Abel dipped into Warren Buffett’s $380 billion cash reserve to buy back stock, boost Berkshire’s stake in Alphabet, and pursue one of its biggest acquisitions in years. One weak spot: GEICO.
I’m a CEO overwhelmed by AI projects. Here’s my system for staying sane
I’ve never been good at stopping what I’m doing. AI has made this problem even worse. Near the end of a recent workday, I was looking forward to closing my laptop and enjoying a relaxing dinner with my family. I had a few minutes free around 4:30, so I decided to check on a dormant project: a pile of prototypes and old data I’d been putting off for months. I opened up the files and threw them into Claude Code to see what was cooking. Seven hours later, I was hunched over my keyboard with bloodshot eyes. And I was really hungry. What happened? It turned out that the dusty pile was a gold mine.
Avoid these 6 phrases if you want to sound more confident
Hey, so I was reading this article about how to sound more confident in your speech, and it's actually pretty interesting. The first thing it says to avoid is using the word "look" - it's like you're trying to command people's attention, but it usually comes across as desperate. Instead, use strong words like "I believe" or "I am convinced".
Another phrase to avoid is "listen", it's like you're trying to tell people what to do, instead of presenting your message in a way that's engaging. Just use strong expressions like "I am convinced that...".
The article also says to avoid phrases like "what I mean is" or "what I'm saying is" - it's like you're admitting you haven't been clear. Just explain what you mean without the throat clearing.
And then there's "I'll be honest", it's often used as a filler expression to buy time, but it's better to just pause and think through your next thought. Pauses actually heighten people's interest in what you're about to say.
Lastly, the article says to avoid filler words like "you know", "uh", "er", and "ah" - they're empty and can make you sound unprepared. Just learn the power of the pause and speak with conviction.
With SEO Rizz Fading, Brands Compete For Chatbot Love
As prognostications go, this one was about as grim as the beadle’s rejoinder to a hungry Oliver Twist on the availability of more soup. “Assume there is no search,” Condé Nast CEO Roger Lynch recalled telling the company’s many publications during a recent episode of the TBPN podcast. In other words, assume publications such as The New Yorker and Wired will, one day soon, no longer derive visitors from Google Search results. He’s not alone in forecasting a massive change in the flow of internet traffic.
The Trojan Horse Inside Your Head: How Government Propaganda Is Quietly Dismantling Free Thought
Authored by J.B. Shurk via American Thinker, Ignore the bureaucrats; listen to the free thinkers... If the Trojan War were being fought today, the Greeks would not need to hide inside of a big, wooden horse and hope to be dragged inside Troy’s city gates. They’d simply disseminate all kinds of lies on social media and wait for the Trojan people to fight each other. Such is the power of corrosive ideas: They can destroy a civilization before its defenders understand that they are under attack. Information warfare is the name of the game today. It exists all around us.
Mattel Honors Whitney Houston With Release Of Barbie Collector’s Doll

Fred Richard Cruises To Win First U.S. Gymnastics Championship
Fred Richard became the men’s U.S. National Champion on Saturday, cruising to his first career title. Heading into Saturday’s competition, the Olympic and World medalist maintained a slim lead over rising star Danila Leykin. Despite a formidable challenge from veteran athlete Shane Wiskus, Richard pulled away from the field on Saturday in Phoenix. Though Leykin took an early lead on Saturday, Richard’s consistency prevailed across six events. With his win, Richard becomes only the second Black man to win the U.S. all-around title, joining John Orozco (2012). 1.
The Rarest Asset In A Fourth Turning: The Freedom To Act
Agency is the rarest asset in today’s Fourth Turning. The piece argues that success won’t come from predicting the future but from holding optionality—multiple assets, jurisdictions, and networks—while keeping the mental freedom to update one’s models.
It points to the BRICS push against dollar dominance, the rise of digital currencies, and geopolitical shifts as forces reshaping the landscape. Those who retain the ability to move capital and themselves into less‑captured jurisdictions preserve real agency, rather than merely complying with the system.
The author warns that the real crisis was the gradual surrender of agency through credit‑financed comfort, leaving populations unable to resist when it matters most.
