DDA launches online FAQs to explain Delhi Master Plan 2047
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Sunday (August 30, 2026) published a comprehensive set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on its website to make the Master Plan for Delhi-2047 (MPD-2047) easier for citizens and stakeholders to understand and enable their active participation in the city’s development. The directions to make the MPD-2047 more accessible to people came from Lieutenant-Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who is also Chairperson of the DDA.
About 15 people missing after Grand Canyon flash flood

South Korea's SK On signs energy storage battery deal with US firm NeoVolta Power
SEOUL, Aug 31 : South Korean battery maker SK On said on Monday it has signed a deal to supply U.S. firm NeoVolta Power with 9 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells for energy storage system use over five years from 2027. The pouch-type cells will be produced at SK On's factory in the U.S. state of Georgia, it said in a statement. SK On did not disclose the value of the deal, but industry estimates put it at around 1.5 trillion won ($1.09 billion).

Former Tory leadership candidate Tom Tugendhat will replace Dame Priti Patel as shadow foreign secretary, BBC News has been told. As first reported by the Daily Telegraph, he will return to the Conservative front bench when Kemi Badenoch reshuffles her team next month. Dame Priti wrote on social media that she would be leaving the role to take up a new position designed to "strengthen links with sister parties and centre right movements around the world". It comes a day after shadow housing secretary Sir James Cleverly said he was resigning in order to run for London mayor.
