DOJ Strike Force Seizes Scam Marketplace, Restrains $52M in Crypto
The Justice Department just seized about $52 million in cryptocurrency from a Chinese-language scam marketplace called Xinbi Guarantee. This operation is part of a broader crackdown on transnational crime, bringing the total restrained by the Strike Force to around $938 million since it was established. Xinbi operated mainly on Telegram, facilitating various scams and money laundering activities.
Investigators traced victim funds back to vendors using escrow payments, leading to the seizure of two crypto wallets worth roughly $12 million and a request to restrain 47 more. The Treasury’s Office of Foreign Asset Control has labeled Xinbi as a transnational criminal organization, freezing its U.S. assets.
This crackdown highlights the ongoing risk for everyday Americans, with reported crypto investment fraud losses skyrocketing to $8.65 billion in 2025, a staggering increase from previous years. The DOJ is committed to tackling these issues head-on, emphasizing that organized crime knows no borders.

The inclusion of ethics language in the CLARITY Act may enhance bipartisan support, potentially accelerating U.S. crypto regulation progress. The post White House agrees to new ethics language in CLARITY Act appeared first on Crypto Briefing.
While Polymarket puts the odds of CLARITY becoming law this year at just 24%, the odds of there being 60 votes in favor of the cloture vote on Tuesday are much higher as it would simply move the bill into the amendment and debate phase. That’s where the rubber will hit the road on issues that have drained support so far including ethics provisions for elected officials, stablecoin yield, and protections for decentralized developers.
