Uniswap Labs’ stable pair hook becomes highest volume pool on Ethereum
Uniswap's StablePair Hook is making waves, with it now being the highest volume pool on Ethereum. This new feature is designed to boost the efficiency and liquidity of stablecoin trading, which is a big deal for decentralized finance. It’s interesting to see how these innovations can shift trading dynamics, especially in a market where stablecoins play such a crucial role.
The increased volume suggests that traders are finding value in this new setup, which could lead to more liquidity in the ecosystem overall. It’s a solid reminder of how quickly things can evolve in DeFi, and it might be worth keeping an eye on how this impacts broader market movements.

Treasury Firms Stack Ethereum, Solana, and Bitcoin Through a Jittery September Market
Three listed crypto treasury companies added to their token piles last week, even as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL) drifted through a soft September. Buying continued as digital assets faced fresh uncertainty ahead of a Federal Reserve rate decision. Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) was the exception, though. The firm bought back its own preferred shares and left its Bitcoin stack untouched. BitMine Immersion Technologies picked up 27,180 ETH last week, lifting its position to 5.956 million tokens.
10-Year Yield Crosses 5%: What It Means for Bitcoin and Stocks
The 10-year Treasury yield topped 5% on Monday, matching its highest level in three years.Bond investors kept pushing rates higher despite the Trump administration’s efforts to calm the market. The move raises borrowing costs across the economy. It could also squeeze both stock valuations and Bitcoin (BTC), whose price already competes with higher-yielding, low-risk government debt. Stocks Face a Valuation Test Higher yields make government bonds more competitive with equities. Investors can lock in strong, low-risk returns instead of taking on stock market risk.
Coinbase-backed Base just exposed the uncomfortable truth about Ethereum’s L2s
Ethereum and Coinbase-backed layer-2 network Base have abandoned an effort to agree on how the next generation of crypto wallets should work. On Sept. 14, Ethlabs researcher Derek Chiang said collaboration between developers working on Ethereum’s EIP-8141 Frame Transactions and Base’s EIP-8130 broke down last week after attempts to produce a shared account-abstraction standard failed to reconcile the chains’ different requirements.
Poland loses $400M in failed cryptocurrency oil trade with Venezuela
Poland just took a $400 million hit from a failed cryptocurrency oil trade with Venezuela. This situation really shines a light on the risks involved when crypto is used in sanctioned trades. It’s a stark reminder of how vulnerable global oil markets can be, especially when regulatory frameworks are still catching up to the fast-paced world of crypto.
What’s interesting here is how this loss could ripple through the market. It raises questions about the reliability of crypto in high-stakes international deals, especially when sanctions are in play. Traders might want to keep an eye on how these developments could affect other countries considering similar trades.

Vitalik Buterin Says Crypto Anti-Collusion Rules Could Apply to AI Safety
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has said that the anti-collusion mechanisms he mapped out for blockchain governance back in 2020 might turn out to matter more for AI safety than for crypto itself. He was responding to an essay by researcher Eric Drexler that used a recent OpenAI security test, in which thousands of AI agents built an unauthorized coordination network and attacked Hugging Face’s production systems, as a live example of the same dynamic he described six years ago.
The Future of State, Part 1: OOPSIE - A new type of Snap Sync-based wallet/lightclient
Very interesting. I just want to point out that a similar idea was tried years ago (circa 2018), by @hermanjunge , kumavis (Aaron Davis) and myself, at Metamask. The core idea was to split the MPT trie based on prefixes called “slices” and publish the slices on a libp2p gossip layer. It worked surprisingly well despite the simplicity (I even have demo querying the gnosis contract balance, one of the largest storage tries back in the day - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NznEt_40qbQ).
