Josh Allen registers 10th game with 2+ rushing, 2+ passing touchdowns
Josh Allen is a touchdown machine. For the 10th time in his career, he has scored two or more rushing touchdowns and two or more passing touchdowns in the same game. His latest score came on the ground from two yards out, extending Buffalo's lead over the Lions to 34-17. Allen holds the record by a wide margin. In second place on the all-time two-and-two list is Hall of Famer Steve Young. He did it four times. For the season, Allen has already accounted for nine touchdowns. Barring a collapse, the Bills will move to 2-0 on the year, with a proper christening of their new stadium.

If you think you know football, it’s time to put your knowledge to the test with BBC Sport’s daily quizzes. Each day, you can challenge yourself with three different types of quizzes designed by Flora Snelson and Joe Rindl.
First up is the "Who Am I?" quiz, where you guess the footballer with as few attempts as possible. Each wrong guess gives you a new clue, so the quicker you answer, the more points you score. Then there’s "Five in Five," where you need to name five correct answers in just five minutes. Finally, the Brainteaser offers a tough question that gives you five lives before the answer is revealed.
If you’re hungry for more quizzes, check out their dedicated pages for Football Quizzes and Sports Quizzes. You can even sign up for notifications to keep the quizzes coming straight to your device. And hey, if you have quiz ideas of your own, they’d love to hear from you!
Allen stars as Bills open new stadium with win over Lions
The Buffalo Bills kicked off their new Highmark Stadium with a thrilling 41-31 victory over the Detroit Lions. Josh Allen was the star of the show, throwing three touchdown passes and rushing for two more. This marked his fourth career game with five touchdowns, following a strong performance in the season opener against Houston.
Allen's first score came early in the first quarter with a 1-yard run, followed by a 43-yard touchdown pass to Josh Palmer. Tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox also contributed with touchdowns, helping the Bills build a commanding lead. Allen completed 20 of 31 passes for 248 yards and rushed for 72 yards, while James Cook sealed the game with a late touchdown run.
The Lions struggled with injuries on defense and a shaky offensive line, which hampered their ability to protect Jared Goff and create space for Jahmyr Gibbs. Goff had a solid game, throwing for four touchdowns, but the Lions couldn’t keep pace after falling behind 21-0 early on. Despite a valiant effort to close the gap, they couldn’t overcome the Bills’ explosive start.
Overall, it was a memorable night for Buffalo as they celebrated their new home with a strong performance from their star quarterback.
