AI potential to drive crypto demand remains ‘underappreciated’: BlackRock
BlackRock says AI agents could drive demand for stablecoins and programmable payment rails, while tokenized computing capacity could create another opportunity for digital assets. The world’s largest asset manager, BlackRock, says broad AI adoption could represent an underappreciated source of demand for digital assets. In its latest research paper, “The Machine-Native Economy,” BlackRock said the rise of AI and machine-to-machine payments could increase demand for blockchains and other programmable payment infrastructure, including stablecoins and other on-chain assets.
SlowMist said malicious FomoPeek versions distributed through Apple’s App Store used iOS kernel exploits to escape the sandbox and access sensitive data from other apps. A malicious iOS app distributed through Apple’s App Store has been linked to nearly $580,000 in stolen crypto after researchers found it contained multiple kernel exploits capable of escaping Apple’s sandbox and accessing sensitive wallet data.
The 10x Bitcoin Rally Isn't Coming. CryptoQuant CEO Predicts a Calmer Cycle
CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju has laid out what he expects from Bitcoin’s (BTC) current bull cycle. He also sees the following bear market as different from past ones. Ju ties that outlook to a change in who owns Bitcoin and the kind of capital it now attracts. His outlook arrives with the asset trading near its highest level since January. Ju expects gains of 3 to 5 times this cycle rather than another 10x-plus parabolic rally. A gentler bear market would follow, in his view. He credited Bitcoin’s larger market and growing institutional ownership.
Bitcoin ETFs Pull In $1 Billion Monday: Are They Driving This Rally or Chasing It?
Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded funds (ETFs) absorbed nearly $1 billion on Monday, Sept. 21. But BTC had already jumped earlier that day on a short squeeze, CoinGlass data shows. Bitcoin briefly topped $84,000 that day, its first trip to that level since Jan. 31. The move liquidated $262.3 million in short positions within an hour. The Squeeze Came Before the ETF Money That timing raises a real question about which move actually came first.
Russia mandates investors report foreign crypto transactions, warns of losses from stablecoin freezes
Russia's new mandate requires investors to report foreign crypto transactions, which could tighten the government's grip on the market. This move might centralize control and limit the freedom that many crypto enthusiasts value. There’s a real concern here about how geopolitical tensions could impact users, especially with potential freezes on foreign assets.
The warning about stablecoin freezes adds another layer of risk for investors. If you’re holding stablecoins tied to foreign entities, you could face unexpected losses. It’s a reminder that while crypto offers some freedom, it also comes with its own set of geopolitical risks that can’t be ignored.

ZetaChain Holders Back Solana Migration As Proposal 68 Passes With 99.4%
ZetaChain's Proposal 68 just passed with a whopping 99.4% support and about 58% turnout. What this means is that ZETA will transition to a native Solana SPL token on a 1:1 basis, keeping the total supply unchanged and avoiding any new issuance. So, if you're holding ZETA, you can expect a straightforward migration without surprises.
Now, don’t get ahead of yourself—the existing ZetaChain Layer 1 is still up and running. The proposal doesn’t trigger any immediate shutdown or token claims just yet. Validators and staking rewards are still active during this initial phase. The final details on the migration process will come through a later governance proposal, which will outline when the network will halt and how the swap will work.
So, while the governance direction is clear, the actual migration is still in the works. Just keep an eye on this one as it develops. For listeners who want low-fee crypto exposure, our markets partner Kraken supports ZETA — link in show notes.

In Switzerland, People Are Long on Franc, Gold, BTC Because of US $40T Debt
Neoclassic Capital co-founder Michael Bucella says Bitcoin (BTC) is climbing for reasons that have little to do with Washington, framing the rally instead as part of a broader move into gold, the Swiss franc, and Bitcoin as debasement hedges. Speaking on CNBC’s Power Lunch, Bucella pointed to a US national debt that has climbed past $40 trillion, arguing investors increasingly treat scarce assets like gold and Bitcoin as insurance rather than bets tied to crypto legislation.
Circle pays millions for Binance distribution while its margins collapse
Circle is doubling down on Binance after USD Coin (USDC) stablecoin customer balances on the exchange nearly quintupled since their first agreement. On Sept. 22, the companies announced a new five-year commercial agreement alongside Binance’s $100 million equity investment in Circle, extending a relationship that has turned the world’s largest crypto exchange into one of USDC’s most important distribution channels. The agreement focuses on expanding USDC access, particularly in emerging markets, and replaces arrangements signed in November 2024 and August 2025.
