Wallabies eager to ride momentum to 2027 Rugby World Cup contention: ‘I’d back us in’
The Wallabies are feeling confident as they aim for the 2027 Rugby World Cup. Lock Jeremy Williams believes they can break a 27-year drought and bring the Webb Ellis Cup home. They’re currently riding a five-match unbeaten streak, which has them ranked sixth in the world. This momentum comes as they prepare to face the All Blacks, a crucial matchup for their growth under coach Eddie Jones.
Ticket sales for the tournament kicked off recently, with over half of the 2.5 million tickets already sold. It’s exciting to see that 43% of those have gone to international fans, highlighting the global interest in the event. The opening match will see the Wallabies take on Hong Kong in Perth, just a year away now. The energy is building, and the team is ready to seize the opportunity.
Dream sweep Mystics to reach first WNBA semi-finals since 2018
Allisha Gray led the team with 22 points and four steals, showcasing her skills on both ends of the court. Jordin Canada also had a standout game, contributing 19 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds. Her all-around performance included hitting four three-pointers, proving crucial in this decisive win. Next up, the Dream will face the No. 8 seed Liberty in the semi-finals, setting the stage for an exciting matchup.
The Cowboys face a decision on whether to offer Porter the contract he was seeking in Pittsburgh. They could keep him under his current deal for 2026, which is just under $4 million, or potentially use the franchise tag in 2027. It’s a tricky situation, especially since Porter has indicated he wouldn’t play without a new contract.
Interestingly, both Porter and Dallas linebacker Micah Parsons share the same agent, David Mulugheta. This connection adds another layer to the trade, especially considering the Cowboys have previously dealt with similar contract issues, like with receiver George Pickens.
As the dust settles, we’ll learn more about how this trade will impact both teams and what the Cowboys plan to do with Porter moving forward. For now, the stalemate between the Steelers and Porter is over, and he’s got a new home in Dallas.
The Vikings are 3-0, and they've won eight straight games dating back to last year. They're getting it done with their defense and special teams, but their offense is a different story. It's been struggling, and right now, they have the worst offense in the NFL, averaging just 238.3 yards per game.
They're still finding ways to win, though, and that's all that matters. If they can get their offense going, they could become a serious contender. For now, these wins are big, even if they're not pretty. The Vikings are building a strong foundation, and if they can ever get their offense to click, they'll be a tough team to beat.
The Vikings are actually on the verge of setting a pretty unusual record - they could become the first team in the Super Bowl era to win four straight games without gaining 250 or more yards. It's not the kind of record you want to set, but it just shows how well their defense and special teams are playing.
The important thing is that the Vikings are winning, and that's what matters. They're doing it one game at a time, and they're getting the job done. If their offense can improve, they'll be a team to watch out for. Until then, they'll just keep grinding out wins.
The Vikings have a lot of potential, and if they can tap into it, they'll be a force to be reckoned with. For now, they're just taking it one game at a time and building momentum. It's not always pretty, but it's working, and that's all that matters.
The Rams are banged up in advance of Sunday's key game at the Eagles. Five players didn't practice on Wednesday. Defensive tackle Aaron Donald skipped the session with a back issue. Cornerback Jaylen Watson's Week 3 shoulder injury caused him to miss practice on Wednesday. Tight ends Colby Parkinson (knee/shoulder) and Terrance Ferguson (ankle) also didn't practice. Receiver Davante Adams took the day off, with the team dubbing it "rest." At the end of a long catch and run against Denver, he seemed to pull up. Still, there was no calf or hamstring injury disclosed.
Mike Tomlin wows everyone with Minecraft video debut
It was the most anticipated premiere since the debut of American Idol or Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Of course we’re not talking about a new show or series. We’re talking about Mike Tomlin and his Minecraft build. The world was stunned when Tomlin casually admitted in an interview with new NBC colleague Craig Melvin that he had started playing Minecraft when his kids were younger so they could connect together as a family. But even as the former Steelers coach saw his children get older, he continued building the same city for over a decade.
Kirk Cousins has seven consecutive victories as a starter
Kirk Cousins is still a bridge quarterback for the Raiders, holding down the starting job until No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza is ready. Alex Smith did that for Patrick Mahomes for one season, and Aaron Rodgers held off Jordan Love for three seasons. Cousins has already served in that role once, starting 14 games for the Falcons in 2024 before they turned to first-round rookie Michael Penix. (Cousins ended up starting eight games last season when Penix was injured.) With the Raiders off to a 3-0 start, though, no one is calling for Mendoza.
Jalen Carter’s wrist is a hairline fracture, but he’s still hitting the field. He’s been training with a soft case since Week 1, and the injury has shown up on every report. His snap counts slipped after the first game—down from 66 snaps to 41, then 51—but he’s now back to full participation in practice. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said the fracture could be an issue, yet Carter’s performance has exceeded expectations. The Eagles will count on him Sunday as they face a Rams squad eager to snap a 1‑3 start. All eyes will be on his durability.
Dan Lanning tells local media he’s done talking about Dante Moore
Dan Lanning is doing his best Bill Belichick impression with the local Oregon media when it comes to any more talk about Dante Moore and his injury against the USC Trojans. He’s on to UCLA. Lanning has never been shy when it comes to the media and sharing his viewpoint. After the game he called the hit disgusting. Then he made the rounds nationally, talking to Dave Portnoy and Wake Up Barstool about the play and his reaction. He also made an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show to talk about it, too.
Seahawks S Julian Love returns to limited practice
Seahawks safety Julian Love returned to practice on Wednesday. He was a limited participant. Love strained a calf muscle at Thursday's practice and missed Sunday's loss to the Commanders. He has two interceptions in two games. The Seahawks practiced without safety Ty Okada (hamstring). Running back George Holani (rib), running back Jadarian Price (chest), defensive tackle Jarran Reed (foot), defensive tackle Leonard Williams (rest) and guard Grey Zabel (groin) were limited.
