‘The Tracksuit that Gets you Laid’.
Imogen, the intern, has been diving deep into fashion analysis instead of socializing, which has sparked some concern. She recently dedicated her time to researching the style of British fashion icons like Kate Moss and Jemima Kirke. As the weather cools, she’s feeling the pull towards more structured clothing, moving away from summer’s carefree vibe.
One standout piece from her findings is the velour tracksuit by Suzie Kondi, which Kirke famously dubbed “the tracksuit that gets you laid.” Imogen appreciates its ability to attract compliments from stylish women rather than unwanted attention, highlighting its elevated design that maintains comfort without sacrificing style.
She also reminisces about a pair of hipster pants from the early 2000s, co-designed by actress Sadie Frost. These trousers, passed down from her mother, have seen the ebb and flow of fashion trends, proving their worth through cycles of being deemed essential and then out of style. Imogen’s exploration reflects a blend of nostalgia and a desire for chic, comfortable attire as she transitions into the fall season.
Claude Code lets the AI actually sit in your folder, read the files, and tweak them. It’s not just a chat; it’s a collaborator that can run tools, remember useful snippets, and keep working with you. The new Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 models make it faster and cheaper, and the stronger one is great for open‑ended tasks. You can hand it your scripts, GitHub repo, Obsidian vault, or any documents, and it will work through them directly. The guide walks you through installing, picking the right model, setting memory, plan mode, skills
Microsoft has advised users of its ExpressRoute Gateway, VPN Gateway, and Azure VMware service that they may experience degraded or interrupted network connectivity, and struggle to perform some network management operations. This looks like a self-inflicted wound because Microsoft’s status page says it has “paused the infrastructure servicing activity associated with the onset of this event.” The event started at 20:30 UTC on 30 September 2026. ExpressRoute Gateway is a service that connects on-prem networks to virtual networks in Azure, making it an important element of a hybrid cloud.
AI Agents Targeted Canadian Government in ‘Rudimentary Hacking Attempts’
A report from an organization called Transluce says Library and Archives Canada was subject to “a series of apparently failed rudimentary hacking attempts” by AI agents on two dates this year, May 28, and June 9. Transluce calls itself a “nonprofit research lab dedicated to public oversight” of AI systems. Its report calls this a case in which “rogue” agents were “aggressive” in their tactics, but it should be noted that it also says the purpose of the attempted hack was to acquire Canadian divorce data from 1905-1911.
Starcloud’s AI computing payload will get a ride to lunar orbit on Firefly’s space vehicle
Redmond, Wash.-based Starcloud has signed up to send its artificial intelligence data-processing hardware into lunar orbit on a Firefly Aerospace spacecraft. Starcloud’s payload, known as SC-1L, will fly on Firefly’s Elytra orbital vehicle during a NASA-supported mission that’s scheduled for launch no earlier than 2028. The mission will demonstrate technologies that Starcloud plans to use on AI data centers in Earth orbit — and around the moon as well.
WhatsApp expands parental controls to teen accounts with group alerts, Meta AI restrictions
After introducing parent-managed accounts for pre-teens earlier this year, WhatsApp today expanded its parental controls to teen accounts, adding group activity alerts and additional restrictions for Meta AI. Here are the details.
Will Superconducting Transistors Help Quantum Computers?
Despite all the glamorous promises made about quantum computing, it’s hard to make the argument that today’s quantum computers hold a candle to the sheer practicality of classical computers, especially when qubits need to be cuddled at cryogenic temperatures inside a cryostat. This is worsened by the problem that regular semiconductor transistors do not really appreciate these same cryogenic temperatures, creating an awkward interfacing problem for the controlling electronics.
OpenMandriva ROME 26.09 Released With More AI Apps, Snaps & PGO + LTO Optimizations
OpenMandriva just pushed out the ROME 26.09 update, and the most interesting part is how they’ve re‑engineered the build pipeline. They swapped the old compiler flags for profile‑guided optimization (PGO) and added link‑time optimization (LTO), which means the core system binaries are now shaving off a few milliseconds on start‑up and using less RAM. It’s a quiet under‑the‑hood tweak, but you’ll notice the desktop feels a touch snappier, especially on older hardware.
On the software side they’ve bundled a handful of AI‑focused utilities—think image upscalers and speech‑to‑text tools—directly into the default repos, and they finally opened the door to Snap packages. That gives you a lot more flexibility without pulling in the whole Snap runtime every time.
The release also patches a handful of lingering bugs from the previous 24.12 version, and the team mentioned a recent sabotage attempt that forced them to tighten their security processes. All in all, it’s a solid, incremental step that feels like a genuine polish rather than a flashy overhaul.
