YouTube believes NFL could "deconstruct" Sunday Ticket in next broadcast deals
YouTube is shaking things up in the NFL broadcast landscape. They believe the league could “deconstruct” the Sunday Ticket package, which has been around since 1994. Traditionally, it allowed fans to watch out-of-market games, but this could change. YouTube, which took over the rights in 2023 for $2 billion a year, is facing a federal class action that could have serious implications for the NFL, potentially costing them over $14 billion.
The NFL lost a trial in 2024, with a jury finding that their pricing strategy violated antitrust laws. While the damages were dismissed, the antitrust violation stands. This could lead to a significant shift in how games are broadcasted. The league is considering selling in-market games to networks while distributing out-of-market games across various platforms, similar to college football.
If the court mandates changes, fans could benefit from watching games on networks they already subscribe to, without the hefty $400 annual fee. This move could also help the NFL schedule games more flexibly, potentially even on Wednesday and Tuesday nights, responding to the evolving viewing habits of fans.
In Week 3, Michael Penix Jr. helped the Falcons secure a win over the Packers, while Jameis Winston led the Giants to victory against the Titans. Marcus Mariota kept the trend going with a win for Washington against the Seahawks, and Case Keenum rounded it out with a win for the Bears over the Eagles.
Looking ahead to Week 4, two more backups are set to make their first starts: Tyson Bagent for the Bears against the Jets and Jalon Daniels for the Buccaneers against the Packers. This trend highlights just how crucial it is for teams to have reliable backup quarterbacks. A strong performance in a pinch could be the difference between playoff contention and missing out entirely.
The Fox ‘Big Noon Kickoff’ Barstool partnership ends abruptly
Hey, so you're not gonna believe this. Fox Sports just pulled the plug on their partnership with Barstool Sports for "Big Noon Kickoff." This is happening like, a month into the college football season.
Apparently, Fox was trying to replicate the success ESPN's had with Pat McAfee and his show, hoping to bring in younger viewers and boost ratings. But after about a season and a third, they've decided it's just not working out.
Sources are saying there wasn't one single big reason, but more that it was just really tough to blend Fox's more traditional vibe with Barstool's whole persona. A big example of this was Dave Portnoy, who founded Barstool, being a Michigan alum and booster. He's had issues with his presence at Ohio State home games, with reports last year saying he was actually banned from being in the stadium.
Portnoy himself chimed in on Twitter, and he's pointing the finger squarely at Ohio State and their head coach, Ryan Day. He claims they complained to the Big Ten and threatened Fox until they had no choice but to end the partnership. Portnoy feels like the juice wasn't worth the squeeze for Fox, and he's pretty blunt about it, even calling Ryan Day "soft" and throwing some jabs. He mentioned that even though he's out of "Big Noon," Barstool's college football content will continue.
Five teams face an 0-4 start — and only one 0-4 team has ever made the playoffs
Week 4 is here, and five teams are still looking for their first victory of 2026. The Dolphins, Texans, Titans, Chargers, and Buccaneers are all 0-3. Only seven teams (most recently, the 2025 Texans) have made the playoffs after an 0-3 start. None of the five teams play each other this weekend, which means all five could still be winless come Monday. Any that land at 0-4 will be facing a steep climb to the postseason. Only one team in NFL history has qualified for the playoffs after starting 0-4.
Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic emblems leaked by official YouTube account
The Brisbane 2032 Olympics and Paralympics emblems have been leaked ahead of their official reveal. This slip happened on the Games’ official YouTube channel, just three days before the planned unveiling. Leading up to this, various pieces of the emblem had been shared across Queensland, building anticipation. The full logos are set to be revealed on Monday, but it looks like we’ve gotten a sneak peek. The design is inspired by a cockatoo, which adds a unique touch to the event. It’ll be interesting to see how everything comes together in the official announcement.
