Google AI Plus and free users are losing access to Gemini models, and it's happening very soon
About three months ago, Google offered me a deal for the Plus subscription tier where I got it at a ~75% discount for three months. It was a really good deal for improved storage space, more Gemini usage, and, the most important part for me, access to the Gemini Pro model. Unfortunately, Google has seemingly decided that the Plus subscription tier is too much of a good thing, as it's losing Pro access later this month alongside a restriction to the free tier.
Kubernetes is evolving how we think about observability, turning it into a continuous reconciliation challenge. As pods and nodes shift, the monitoring stack needs to adapt without needing to adjust every application image. The Dynatrace Operator simplifies this with a DynaKube custom resource that allows you to specify the monitoring components your cluster needs. It uses a mutating webhook to seamlessly inject necessary elements into selected pods, while an optional CSI driver caches code modules to avoid redundancy.
On another front, there's a new standard called MCP Apps, which is gaining traction among big players like OpenAI and Microsoft. This is significant because it changes how customers interact with products. Instead of visiting a website, they might engage with your offerings directly through AI chat interfaces. MCP Apps enhance this experience by providing interactive UIs within chat, allowing for actions like adding items to a cart without ever leaving the conversation.
In a recent video, Julien, the lead maintainer of Skybridge, demonstrated how to build an MCP app, showcasing its potential through live demos of Booking.com and an e-commerce app. This framework allows developers to transform any React app into an MCP app, making it easier to sync UI states and enhance user engagement. If you're curious, the Skybridge GitHub repo is available for anyone interested in diving deeper.
Happy Friday, monitors. It’s been a big week. Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 5.5, OpenAI announced Dots and 20 other products and features at DevDay, Google announced its new frontier model, Gemini 4 Argon, and OpenAI fired three safety researchers for leaking information to third-party AI safety organizations. Be sure to monitor with us live on X and YouTube, and follow us on Instagram and our brand-new TikTok. President Trump is expected to name Jay Clayton as AI czar.
This article dives into how we can support our nervous system and brain health, especially in light of the lingering effects of COVID-19. The author emphasizes that our bodies have a remarkable ability to heal, given the right tools and a bit of effort. They break down three main areas impacted by the virus: the vascular system, immune cells, and energy production, all of which can lead to chronic issues over time.
One of the simplest ways to combat these effects is through exercise, particularly rucking, which combines cardiovascular and resistance training. It’s not just about breaking a sweat; the mechanics of exercise increase blood flow to the brain and help rejuvenate bone marrow stem cells, enhancing immune function. The author suggests aiming for about five hours of moderate rucking each week, using a backpack for added weight—just a small percentage of your body weight to start.
Alongside exercise, certain supplements can be beneficial. Vitamin D is highlighted as crucial for immune health, while CDP-Choline and Pyridoxal 5'-Phosphate support cellular functions and help clean up debris in the nervous system. Methylcobalamin and Vitamin C also play roles in nerve repair and remyelination. The author even touches on Beta-Hydroxybutyrate, a ketone that can aid brain health, especially when produced through fasting or a ketogenic diet.
Overall, the message is clear: a combination of regular exercise and targeted supplements can make a significant difference in recovery and overall brain health. It’s all about finding what works for you and being consistent.
‘Kingdom Come Deliverance’ Studio Co-Founder Expresses Hope That GTA6 Will Drive Up Game Prices
Over the years, a certain subset of video game enthusiasts have enjoyed, let’s say, a complicated relationship with Warhorse Studios, the developers of both Kingdom Come Deliverance and its sequel. On the one hand, the games are both good! And Warhouse founder Daniel Vávra was vocal about Gamergate! “They only know how to bark at others from behind the fence,” he said in 2014, and “how to play victims when somebody barks back.” Of course, Vávra could only have been describing the cowardly purveyors of the cynical harassment campaign perpetrated against—oh. Wait. No.
