The Chilling Reality Beneath Sean Combs’s Self-Mythology The most comprehensive biography of the hip-hop mogul to date is both an in-depth character study and a 30-year chronicle of crime and hubris. When you purchase an independently reviewed book through our site, we earn an affiliate commission.
A Daring New Novel About a Black Cop Breaks All the Rules What seems like a story of a man hoping to reunite with a childhood flame is really a high-wire act about police brutality, racist conspiracies and much, much more. Geronimo Johnson, is a strange book.
A triumph at Celine, movie stars at Dries Van Noten and … Comme des Garçons jeans? Believe it. The best show of the Paris season thus far (even, possibly, the whole fashion season) took place under an island-style thatched-roof gazebo in the formal gardens of the National Archives, with a campaign button on every seat displaying a quote from “Paris is Burning,” the 1990 documentary about the New York ballroom scene: “If you shoot an arrow and it goes real high, hooray for you.” Yeah, that combination of references didn’t make a lot of sense to anyone who was actually in the room either.
Tom Morello's Power To The People took place at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, on Saturday (October 3). Proceeds from the one-day event benefit VoteRiders and HeadCount, and it was livestreamed on MS NOW's YouTube channel. But while PTTP was billed as non-partisan, just as the festival began, Rolling Stone published a new interview in which Morello said he did not vote for Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. Morello is one of the most recognizable left-wing musicians in America, and the revelation prompted plenty of surprise online.

Young Sherlock may have had a strong debut on Prime Video with record-breaking viewership, but George Lucas’ historical adventure epic from the 1990s remains one of the best prequel shows that's ever been made. Guy Ritchie’s recent Sherlock endeavor proved a success, dominating the streaming platform’s global top 10 chart within days of its release. With Ritchie’s stylized action sequences and Hero Fiennes Tiffin’s charismatic performance, Young Sherlock captured audience interest, and the show has been renewed for a second season.
Glen Powell sees his hit TV-MA comedy series reach the end of a glorious era on streaming after recently returning with a new season that included a shocking genre change towards its later episodes. Powell's list of movies and TV shows is one of the busiest in Hollywood. Ever since the actor had his breakout role opposite names like Tom Cruise and Miles Teller in Top Gun: Maverick, Powell has been everywhere.
Before Portal introduced us to everyone's favorite female AI overlord, System Shock 2 tackled the topic in a much darker way. BioShock creator Ken Levine cut his teeth on post-apocalyptic horror with this iconic title. The game was developed by Irrational Games and Looking Glass Studios and originally released in 1999, and has become a classic for its masterful storytelling and pulse-pounding moments of dread.
Marvel’s brand-new horror-themed publishing line launches this Wednesday with three debut books: Midnight Fantastic Four, Midnight Spider-Man, and Midnight X-Men. In their best interests, readers have largely been kept in the dark about these books, as it’ll surely be far more fun to discover what’s terrifying about them by flipping through the pages of these first issues themselves, though we surprisingly don’t even know what the Midnight universe Spider-Man’s powers will be yet.
Some TV cancellations feel premature, even when the numbers may have made sense. Poker Face is one of them. Peacock’s murder mystery series had already established its formula, its star and, perhaps most importantly, an endless supply of places to take its heroine. Then, after just two seasons, the streamer folded.
Taylor Sheridan may be best known for his work writing iconic Western shows like Yellowstone and Landman, but those who have been following his work for a while know he first made a name for himself in movies, not TV. Sheridan made his feature writing debut all the way back in 2015 on Sicario, the epic neo-Western thriller starring Josh Brolin and Emily Blunt. Only Brolin and Benicio del Toro returned three years later to star in the sequel, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, which also switched directors from Denis Villeneuve to Stefano Sollima.
