Aces-Fever series helps make 1st round of WNBA playoffs most-watch ever
The 2026 WNBA Playoffs are making history with the first round being the most-watched ever, averaging 1.3 million viewers across ten games. A big highlight was the three-game series between the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces. Game 1 topped the charts with 2.1 million viewers, marking the highest viewership for a WNBA playoff game on ABC. Game 2, streamed on Prime Video, brought in 1.42 million, while Game 3 peaked at 2.7 million viewers across USA Network and CNBC, setting a new record for the first round.
This impressive Game 3 viewership is particularly noteworthy as it competed with a Thursday Night Football matchup. Even though Caitlin Clark and the Fever are out of the playoffs, the league's future looks bright. Current projections suggest this year's playoffs could surpass the previous viewership record from 2024, which averaged 1.1 million viewers for eight first-round games. The excitement around the WNBA is clearly growing, and fans are tuning in like never before.
DAZN replaces Max Kellerman with Mario Lopez as ‘Inside the Ring’ host
DAZN has made a significant change to its Inside the Ring show, announcing that Mario Lopez will step in as the new host. This news comes as former host Max Kellerman and analyst LeSean McCoy will not return for the show's second season. Boxing insider Mike Coppinger confirmed he’ll be back, and the show will now stream twice a week on DAZN Boxing and Ring Magazine’s YouTube channels.
Lopez, known for his roles in Saved By The Bell and Extra, is a passionate boxing fan and has previously served as a guest commentator and co-hosted a boxing podcast. He’ll be joined by Coppinger and a rotating panel of analysts. Meanwhile, Kellerman will continue his role with Zuffa Boxing, despite a challenging week that included backlash over his comments on the Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua fight. It’ll be interesting to see how this new hosting dynamic unfolds.
Victor Wembanyama isn’t shutting out American media, but he may be done talking about NBA Finals loss
As we move closer to the start of the NBA season, it’s time to start thinking about Victor Wembanyama again. The 22-year-old is one of the most fascinating athletes in all of sports, and after a run to the NBA Finals last year, poised for a big season that could begin to shape what could go down as quite a legacy. He also, apparently, doesn’t want to talk that much right now. At least that was the thinking after a clip from Tuesday’s episode of the Hoop Collective podcast began circulating on social media. In the clip, ESPN writer Michael C.
