An ‘All Weather’ portfolio. Is there such a thing?
The Nifty is down about 14% this year, and foreign investors are pulling back, which is making the market feel pretty shaky. In the U.S., stocks are climbing, but rising bond yields are creating tension globally. Amid this uncertainty, Ray Dalio's All Weather portfolio comes up as a potential strategy for long-term investors. It’s designed to perform across different economic conditions by diversifying into stocks, bonds, gold, and commodities. Historically, it has provided steadier returns with less volatility compared to traditional equity-heavy portfolios, but it’s not a guaranteed win in every scenario.
For Indian investors, adapting this strategy means focusing more on gold and considering global stocks to hedge against local market stress. If you're feeling uncertain about where to put your money right now, multi-asset allocation funds could be a practical option. They spread investments across various assets and automatically rebalance, making it easier for you to stay diversified without constant monitoring.

Henry Farrell of Johns Hopkins Agora Comes to Berkeley: FOG & FLATLANDS
Henry Farrell is coming to Berkeley on October 9th to discuss “AI as Social Technology.” He’s diving into how AI reshapes political science, drawing on Herbert Simon's ideas about collective information processing. Farrell argues that large language models can simplify complex information, similar to how markets and bureaucracies have historically done. This opens up fresh research avenues, especially regarding how these technologies influence democratic engagement.
He’ll also explore the lessons from past economic transitions, like from steam power to applied science, and how they inform our understanding of today’s info-bio tech landscape. It’s a thoughtful examination of how AI fits into our political fabric, rather than just a tech gimmick.

Lions. NEW Weekly Trade. (GETTING PAID UPFRONT TO TRADE). This Trade Turns YOU Into A Market-Maker... (NOT A SPECULATOR).
Premium collected up front, turning you into a market‑maker rather than a speculator.
The weekly “Lions” setup lets you receive the option premium the moment you open the position, so the cash sits in your account immediately instead of waiting for a price move.
It’s framed as a sovereign strategy: you keep the premium as income, while the underlying risk is limited to the strike price you’ve chosen. The trade is repeated each weekend, giving a consistent rhythm to the approach.
Remember, risk can be minimized but never eliminated; the key is to size the position so the premium comfortably exceeds any potential loss.

China Targets AI-Linked Jobs With New Employment Initiative

The goal here is pretty clear: they want to ensure that the workforce is equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in an AI-driven economy. It's a proactive step, considering how quickly technology is evolving and reshaping industries.
While this initiative is primarily about job adaptation, it also highlights the broader global trend of integrating AI into various sectors. It’s interesting to see how countries are responding to these changes, and it might signal shifts in job markets and opportunities in the near future.
