Trevor Lawrence continues to perform among the NFL's elite quarterbacks
The hiring of Liam Coen as head coach of the Jaguars has been very good for quarterback Trevor Lawrence. After Coen arrived, Lawrence became one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL. Case in point: Lawrence has produced more touchdowns since the start of the 2025 season than all NFL quarterbacks except two: Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Via NBC Sports research, Lawrence has 49 total touchdowns (40 passing, nine rushing). Stafford and Allen have 58 each. The Jaguars have also won 11 of their last 13 games.
NFL fines Quinn Meinerz for posting notice of drug test after flattening Aaron Donald
Quinn Meinerz, the Broncos offensive lineman, is facing a fine from the NFL after he posted a notice of a drug test on social media. This came on the heels of his impressive performance against the Rams, where he took down Aaron Donald. The league handed down a $15,000 fine for this violation of their policy, which strictly prohibits sharing any details related to the drug testing process.
Meinerz is appealing the fine, but the league's stance is pretty clear. The policy explicitly states that sharing any media related to the testing, including screenshots or videos, is not allowed. It’s a straightforward situation for the NFL, and they’re enforcing the rules as they’ve laid them out.

Toxicity and uncertainty await Man City - will their season even matter?
Manchester City will face an atmosphere of toxicity and hostility they have never experienced before when they walk out to face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday. If City made a list of clubs they would prefer not to visit immediately after being found guilty of all charges related to breaches of Premier League financial rules between 2009-10 and 2017-18, Liverpool would be at the top ringed in red.

Kirk Cousins is having a rare debut run with the Raiders
Kirk Cousins is making a splash with the Raiders, his fourth NFL team. He’s already thrown 11 touchdown passes in just four games, tying him for the league lead with Brock Purdy of the 49ers. If he can add three more against the Patriots this Sunday, he’ll join a rare group of quarterbacks who have thrown 14 or more touchdowns in their first five games with a new team. Only Patrick Mahomes and Kurt Warner have done it before, and both went on to win MVP that same year.
If Cousins keeps this momentum, he could find himself in the MVP conversation, potentially becoming the oldest quarterback to win the award at 38. But first, he’ll need to bounce back from the Raiders' recent loss and secure a win in New England. It’s an exciting time for him and the team.
Matt LaFleur takes 12-3 record vs. Bears into Sunday's showdown
Bears coach Ben Johnson has made it clear that he doesn't like the Packers. Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur has given the Bears plenty of reasons not to like the Packers. Since arriving as head coach of the Packers in 2019, LaFleur has a 12-3 record against the Bears, including the postseason. His 80 percent win rate is the highest that any coach has ever generated against the Bears, with a minimum of 10 games played. Johnson, of course, has won the last two — late in the 2025 regular season and then in the wild-card round. The Bears haven't beaten the Packers three times in a row since 2005-06.
UFC Vegas 122 post-fight show: Reaction to Brendan Allen’s late finish in main event, callout of Dricus du Plessis
Brendan Allen kept his title hopes alive in the main event of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night card at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas with a fifth-round submission victory over Christian Leroy Duncan. With his fourth straight victory in tact, Allen took aim at Dricus du Plessis with a unique type of callout, but will that be the fight he ends up getting, or will Allen continue to have to play defense with his position in the rankings? Following UFC Vegas 122, MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck reacts to the event, the headliner that saw Allen stop Duncan, what were big takeaways from both fighters, and if du…
Marvin Harrison Jr. wasn't present for Cardinals team meetings on Saturday night
It's not clear where receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will be playing as of next week. It's becoming more and more clear he won't be playing for the Cardinals. Via Josh Weinfuss of ESPN, Harrison was not present for team meetings on Saturday night. Harrison reportedly has been told he won't be active for Sunday's game against the Lions, as a trade is finalized. Some in league circles believe he'll be traded to the Texans. Some think the Raiders could be lurking. Sunday's games could shake things up, based on injuries that could happen in the various games.
Brendan Allen stops Christian Leroy Duncan with dramatic fifth-round choke in UFC Vegas 122 main event
Brendan Allen worked a lot harder than he expected, but he got the job done inside the distance. Allen faced Christian Leroy Duncan in the main event of UFC Vegas 122 on Saturday night. “All-In” couldn’t seem to get out of first gear through most of the fight, and while his fundamental skill set kept him a step ahead, Duncan showed tenacity to keep things close — but a key error early put him in a hole. Duncan came out very aggressive early, but then went to a questionable game plan of clinch work against the fence. Allen took full advantage of the situation with an easy takedown.
