The Ravens hacked NFL overtime to beat the Falcons
It’s always fascinating when a team breaks the conventional rules of the NFL to find a new exploit. That’s exactly what the Ravens did in overtime on Sunday night, robbing the Falcons of any opportunity to even really play in the extra period and seal the victory on the road, 30-23. Kyle Hamilton won the toss for Baltimore in overtime and made the unheard-of decision to receive the ball. Logic dictates that since the advent of two-possession overtime, a team always, ALWAYS kicks first.

The Dream are scheduled to host Games 3 and 4 of the best-of-seven series on 22 and 24 October, along with Game 6 on 29 October if necessary. But State Farm Arena, the 17,044-seat home of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks, is unavailable on all three dates.
Tua Tagovailoa replaces injured Michael Penix for overtime
Tua Tagovailoa will finish the game for the Falcons, who are down 30-23 in overtime to the Ravens. Michael Penix Jr. has been diagnosed with a rib injury and is officially questionable. But for all intents and purposes, he’s out. Penix suffered the injury on a hard hit toward the end of the fourth quarter. Tagovailoa came in to throw one pass, but Penix came back in to finish the drive. But Tagovailoa is behind center as the Falcons need to score quickly in overtime to prevent a loss.

Robert Griffin III is still teasing a potential return to the NFL
Robert Griffin III has not played an NFL snap since 2020, and has not started more than one game of an NFL season in a literal decade. In the years since his playing days, Griffin has built a pretty solid career as an analyst, currently serving alongside play-by-play man Connor Onion in the network’s No. 2 college football booth. But despite his more than extended absence from the NFL and the steady work he has found since hanging up his cleats, Griffin remains committed to teasing his potential return to the pros.

John Harbaugh: We wanted as many yards as we could get before field goal
The Commanders' mismanagement of the clock at the end of overtime in Sunday's 27-27 tie with the Giants obscured another coaching decision that backfired earlier in the period. The Giants picked up a first down at the Washington 24-yard-line at the two-minute warning and had a chance to run the clock out to take a field goal as time expired because the Commanders were out of timeouts.
