Purdy makes NFL history as 49ers beat Commanders to stay perfect
Brock Purdy made NFL history on Monday night, leading the San Francisco 49ers to a 23-17 victory over the Washington Commanders. This win marks the 49ers' sixth straight victory to open the season, keeping their perfect record intact. Purdy threw a touchdown pass, showcasing his growth and poise as a quarterback.
Christian McCaffrey also played a crucial role, running for two touchdowns. His performance was key in maintaining the team's momentum throughout the game. The 49ers' defense held strong, making sure the Commanders couldn’t close the gap in the final moments.
This win not only solidifies the 49ers' position at the top of the league but also highlights Purdy's remarkable journey. It’s exciting to see how this team continues to evolve and what they’ll achieve as the season progresses.
NFL has until Tuesday to decide whether to flex Eagles-Commanders out of prime time
With the Eagles slipping to 2-4 and the Commanders sliding to 1-4-1, the two teams have a Week 8 prime-time date looming. Ravens-Bills makes the most sense, but the Ravens play the following Thursday night. Vikings-Lions is a possibility, if the NFL is willing to commit now to flexing Lions-Vikings in Week 15 out of Sunday night. Colts-Jaguars wouldn't have as much sizzle as Eagles-Commanders, given the wide-open nature of the NFC East.
