Receipt #32: Seven Dividend Raises. One Stock Fell.
Seven dividend raises announced. Share prices had other ideas. In July 2025, we picked seven stocks for dividends—the cash companies pay shareholders. By October 22, 2026, all seven had announced another raise. Seven names. Seven increases. Share prices were less cooperative. Six rose; Lowe’s fell 8.1%. Its dividend raise earned a green check. Its share price still lost ground. We show both. The basket below imagines buying equal amounts and holding. It is a comparison, not a record of trades we made or proof that the full strategy worked. Texas Instruments needs an asterisk.
Clearing Out Bloat to Adjust Earnings. And. Security Concerns
Welcome Avatar! As a quick preview for part of Sunday’s post, one thing we’re noticing is that old P/E and ETF analysis is no longer relevant in 2026. We’ve all watched as the same charts pop up. “20 companies are driving all the returns” or “100s of companies in the S&P are down”. None of this addresses the main issue: Tech Removes Headcount Without Impacting Revenue. Since that is the case, how accurate is the E in the P/E ratio? Forward Returns on a P/E Basis This is a popular chart used by the bond vs. equity crowd.

How to turn off Google’s AI Overviews—and reclaim search sanity
Google’s AI Overviews are cluttering search results, making it tough to find accurate information. Studies show that AI-generated content can be wrong anywhere from 10% to over 50% of the time, which isn’t great. But there’s a simple fix to bypass all that noise and get back to straightforward web results.
You can use UDM14, a site that sends your queries directly to Google while stripping out the AI Overviews and other distractions. It’s easy—just type your search into UDM14, and you’ll see clean results. If you prefer Google, you can manually adjust your search by adding “&udm=14” to the end of your URL or selecting “Web” from the options on your device.
This little trick can really transform your search experience. It’s free, doesn’t track your data, and works on any browser. So, if you’re tired of sifting through AI-generated fluff, give this a shot.

India Regulator Orders Options Trainer Avadhut Sathe to Refund INR 5.46B
5.46 billion rupees, or about $57.5 million, is the amount India’s market regulator has ordered options trader Avadhut Sathe to refund to participants of his trading academy. The regulator found that Sathe and his academy were offering unregistered investment advice and research services while presenting themselves as a stock market education platform.
This move highlights the ongoing scrutiny of trading educators and the importance of regulatory compliance in the financial markets. It’s a reminder for anyone involved in trading education to ensure they’re operating within the legal framework.

Gunmen Attack Orthodox Church In Jordan During Service, Killing 7 & Wounding Dozens
Seven people are dead and 34 others wounded after gunmen attacked St. George Orthodox Church in Jordan during a funeral. This incident, one of the worst attacks on Christians in the country’s modern history, occurred in the Karak region, known for its long-standing Christian community. The Jordanian government has condemned the attack as terrorism, and authorities are actively investigating the assailants, who reportedly used firearms to carry out the assault.
Interior Minister Mazin Al Farrayeh described the attackers as "extremists," but it’s still unclear if they have ties to any known groups. Eyewitness accounts and security footage show chaos as mourners fled under gunfire. King Abdullah vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice, emphasizing national unity against such violence.
This tragic event highlights the ongoing struggles faced by Christian communities in the region, which have been increasingly targeted amid geopolitical tensions.

Five Reasons Why Trump Is More Serious Than Ever About Cutting Deals With Putin
Trump's intentions to engage with Putin are becoming clearer, especially regarding potential economic partnerships. Key discussions have emerged about significant joint projects, including US investments in Russia's energy sector, which could lead to the EU returning frozen assets. This move could also serve as a deterrent against Ukrainian attacks, reshaping the global energy landscape by reducing reliance on the Gulf.
There’s also a focus on critical minerals, which Russia has in abundance but hasn't fully exploited. US investment could accelerate this process, especially in remote regions of Siberia, where processing facilities could be established away from populated areas.
Additionally, there are talks about nuclear-powered data centers that could utilize these minerals, potentially fostering deeper tech partnerships between the countries. The idea is to power these facilities not only with nuclear energy but also through hydroelectric dams, creating a diverse energy portfolio.
Lastly, the strategic positioning of these resources could enhance logistical cooperation, particularly through the Northern Sea Route. This partnership could shift the balance in the ongoing US-China rivalry, but the success of these negotiations hinges on Trump's willingness to adjust sanctions without immediate conditions.

Woke Video Game Developer BioWare Shuts Down In Humiliating Failure
I'm not sure if you’ve seen the news, but BioWare is officially shutting down after 30 years. They’re part of a larger trend in the gaming industry, which has seen over 57,000 layoffs since 2022. This year alone, around 13,000 developers are expected to lose their jobs as companies like Microsoft and EA restructure due to declining revenues and gamer interest.
BioWare’s downfall seems to have been accelerated by their push into what some are calling "woke" game design, especially with their last title, Dragon Age: Veilguard. It reportedly cost around $250 million to develop and market but only brought in about $50 million in sales. That’s a tough pill to swallow.
The broader takeaway here is that the gaming landscape is shifting, and companies are realizing they need to align with what players actually want. It’s a reminder that consumer preferences can’t be ignored.
