LEMON DROP: Trump’s White House Loses the Plot as Midterm Messaging Unravels
Former White House Communications Director Jennifer Palmieri joins Don to examine the controversy surrounding the White House’s messaging, its handling of difficult headlines, and what happens when an administration struggles to control its own story.
Israel to close West Bank crossings on election day as crackdown escalates
All West Bank land crossings will be closed during Tuesday's election in Israel, the country's military says, and Palestinian workers will be barred from entering all settlements. The restrictions come amid a crackdown in the occupied West Bank after Palestinian gunmen killed two Israeli soldiers in the territory. The Israel Defense Forces announced a "ban on the entry and exit of Palestinian workers throughout Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley, including industrial zones, as well as the closure of all land crossings" on Tuesday.
If Trump Tries to Interfere with Elections, States Should Arrest Him Immediately","
(Go directly to Petition) / More Actions / Donald Trump’s approval rating is right around that of explosive diarrhea, and his team is going to get destroyed on Election Day. So he’s trying whatever BS maneuver his demented mind can think of to steal votes and the election. But states control their own elections, not the federal government. It’s in the Constitution, no matter what Trump might claim. So call him on his bullshit, add your name, and tell Trump: “States control their elections, so piss off, cut the crap, and stay the hell out of their way.”
Foot marches held across district ahead of elections
Ahead of the elections, the Police department is taking various measures to instil confidence and trust among the people on peaceful conduct of elections and maintaining law and order during the election process. The District has several hyper sensitive and sensitive pockets which witnessed poll-related violence in the past. Superintendent of Police P. Jagadeesh had directed the local police and special police forces to conduct foot marches in sensitive villages across the district.
VICTORY: Conservatives pull off stunning win in BC election
The Conservatives will unseat the NDP and are almost guaranteed to win the popular vote. While polls suggested a somewhat close race, once votes started coming in, it became immediately apparent what the most likely result was going to be — a Conservative victory — with Conservatives gaining momentum even in traditionally NDP-leaning strongholds. At the time of writing, the Conservatives are leading in 63 ridings, having already won 47 of those — enough to secure a majority. The NDP have won a mere 13 and are leading in only 17 others. The Greens have won one seat.
Donald Trump’s efforts to federalize the midterm elections have been largely unsuccessful. Most notably, in September, the Supreme Court stopped his efforts to use the Postal Service to exert federal control over the elections. That issue will likely crop back up for 2028, but, along with other Trump plans that have gone down to defeat, like his failed attempts to force Congress to pass the wildly unpopular SAVE Act, Trump hasn’t gotten the results he wanted.
Musk accuses Ukraine of violating Starlink's terms of service
"Starlink's terms have remained consistent as a civilian system, not a means of killing. Violation of those terms will result in end of service," he wrote in another post. He added that Starlink remained "critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now. Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately." While Mr. Musk has shifted his stance on Ukraine many times since Russia's invasion in 2022, he has insisted that any disruption was the responsibility of the U.S. government, not SpaceX.
Ukraine says Starshield back to normal, Musk says Kyiv violated Starlink terms
KYIV: Ukraine said on Saturday (Oct 24) that the Starlink satellite system and its military version Starshield were now fully functional after over a week of restrictions that disrupted military operations and intensified tensions with the United States. But hours later, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, whose company owns Starlink, accused the Ukrainian military of violating the company's terms. Neither Musk nor the US government, which operates Starshield using Starlink technology, had taken responsibility for imposing the curbs.
Trump orders lawsuit to BLOCK Alaska election certification
That was not the only story of corruption. Vanity Fair published allegations from Matthew Cole’s new book, Princes and Thieves, about Russian military intelligence allegedly hacking Jared Kushner’s phone while he served in the first Trump White House. The account describes screenshots revealing access to foreign government funds and approximately $700 million in transfers. Four former senior administration officials told Cole they knew of no presidential authorization that would have permitted that access.
SpaceX Applied Speed Limits on Starlink and Starshield in Ukraine for 10 Days Before Restoring Service
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense announced on October 24 that Starlink and Starshield services have had their operating speeds restored after a temporary slowdown. This speed limit was in place for about ten days, aimed at managing the network’s performance during a critical period. The ministry noted that connectivity has remained stable since the restoration, which is a relief for users who rely on these services for communication and coordination, especially in light of ongoing challenges in the region. The decision to reinstate normal speeds reflects a balancing act between operational needs and user demands.
