North Korea denies role in $6.3B Binance hack, points finger at US
Pyongyang has pushed back against the FBI’s attribution of the Binance attack, with Kim Yo Jong calling the US allegations politically motivated. Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, denied North Korea’s involvement in the $6.3 billion Binance hack and appeared to suggest, without evidence, that the US could have been behind the theft. In a statement released via the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Tuesday, Kim rejected the FBI’s attribution of the attack to a North Korean-backed hacking group.

Binance begins second withdrawal phase, exchange outflows slow
Binance just kicked off its second withdrawal phase, reopening access for several fiat currencies like the US dollar and the UAE dirham. This adds to the 23 other currencies already available, which is a solid move for users looking to cash out.
On the outflow front, things have calmed down a bit. Over the weekend, Binance saw net outflows peak at $6.1 billion, but Monday's figure dropped to $2.57 billion. That’s a big shift, suggesting some stabilization after the recent chaos.
Just a heads-up from Binance: they’re warning users about potential scams during this phased reopening. If anyone is promising to speed up withdrawals for a fee, it’s likely a scam. Stay sharp and don’t fall for it.

So, here’s the deal: North Korean hackers have been moving around a hefty $628 million they stole from Binance, and it’s had a surprising side effect on some DeFi protocols. Over the last few days, five services—SunSwap, THORChain, Relay, Symbiosis, and Chainflip—have seen a combined revenue boost of over $100,000 a day. THORChain and Relay, in particular, have skyrocketed, with revenue increases of 2,229% and 1,954% respectively.
SunSwap led the pack with nearly $30,000 generated from these hacked funds, while THORChain wasn’t far behind at just over $28,000. It’s interesting to see how these protocols are benefiting from such a grim situation. The FBI has officially linked the hack to North Korea, and the fallout is still unfolding, with more than $3 billion in stolen funds still out there.

SEC Just Made Regulation Easier For Governance Tokens Like Uniswap
The SEC has clarified that governance tokens like Uniswap (UNI) generally won’t be classified as securities, as long as they’re genuinely decentralized. This is a big deal because it eases regulatory concerns for DeFi projects, meaning that thousands of investors voting together won’t be seen as forming a controlling group. Instead, these tokens might be viewed as digital commodities, which come with different regulatory requirements.
For UNI holders, this means a little less uncertainty moving forward. It could encourage exchanges and institutional investors to engage more with these tokens. But remember, this is just guidance from SEC staff, not a law. So, while it’s a step forward, the landscape could shift again depending on future regulations or congressional actions.

3 Altcoins to Watch in the First Week of November 2026
Bitcoin dipped below $77,000 today, dragging the broader market down, but three altcoins are holding their ground: Hyperliquid (HYPE), Pepe (PEPE), and Stacks (STX). Each of these has critical support levels that could dictate their next moves.
HYPE is hovering around $85.19, a significant Fibonacci support level. It’s been on an upward trend since May, but recent dips have it slightly below that key mark. If buyers can reclaim $85.19, we might see it push toward its record high of $97.99. On the flip side, if it continues to weaken, it could slide down to around $75.14.
PEPE has been on a roll since August, breaking out of a long-standing trading range. Currently, it's close to $0.00000474, a crucial support level. If it holds, we could see it rally back to $0.00000534 and possibly $0.00000618. However, if it falls below $0.00000445, it might drop to $0.00000415.
Stacks (STX) faced a hefty 42% drop from its mid-October peak but found some buying interest around $0.2852. It's now testing resistance at $0.3248, with a significant hurdle at $0.34. A close above $0.34 could lead to a jump to around $0.3811, while losing $0.2852 might expose it to support in the $0.229–0.245 range.

Tom Lee calls Ethereum’s 4% post-hack fall bullish
Tom Lee believes crypto's muted reaction to Binance's $6.3 billion hack is another sign that a bull market is underway. The BitMine chairman pointed to Ethereum's roughly 4% decline following the Oct. 29 theft, which was more than four times larger than the $1.5 billion stolen from Bybit in February 2025. Ethereum fell 8% on… Read the full story on CryptoSlate Understand the crypto stories that matter and what to watch next. Get The Catalyst in your inbox
