Happy Friday all. And a very good Friday it is!
Have three new meaty deep dives into this historic election for your weekend reading, viewing, and listening pleasure:
I think I’m going to make this chart into a big poster for my Hopium room:
We continue to raise for Scott Colom in Mississippi and Mary Peltola and the Alaska Dems. We start the day still leading in both as votes are counted. Let’s go get two more Senate seats people!

One of the most consequential things that happened on Tuesday was the huge victories we had in Texas. We are lucky that our friend Kendall Scudder, the Chair of the Texas Democratic Party is coming by today at 1230pm ET to talk about how they did it and what happens next in a suddenly blue Texas! Join us by clicking here a little before 1230pm ET. Excited for this one.
It appears that the Israeli opposition will receive a mandate to form a new government on Sunday that does not include Bibi or his party, Likud. The global right’s losing streak continues:
Built this new chart this morning from the Exit Poll data. The #1 for Democratic voters in the 2026 election was “State of Democracy,” not the economy. It is why we must be both fierce warriors for working people and proud patriots defending freedom and democracy, here and everywhere.
Well, this is very exciting:
**Anderson Does It Again **- There is a lot of remarkable news coming from the states but one of the most remarkable stories of the this remarkable election is what our friend Anderson Clayton and the NC Dems have done this cycle (again). As of today NC has flipped 5 US House races, and our candidate leads in a sixth. Only one of these races were “red to blue,” meaning fully targeted by the DCCC. If we flip six seats here, more than any other state in the country, it will turn the NC House delegation from 4 Dems and 10 wildly gerrymandered Rs to 10 Dems and 4 Rs. There has been a lot of talk about how we overcame the GOP gerrymanders in Florida and Texas, but the NC gerrymander came in 2023 and our friends there in the Tar Heel State just crashed through this one too, big time.
We had other wins in North Carolina too. Anita Earls won her state Supreme Court race. We went all the way from one seat away from a super-minority in the state House to a supermajority, and we are a few hundred votes away in a race not yet called from getting to a tie in the state Senate. For the second cycle in a row our good friend Anderson Clayton and the North Carolina Democratic Party have overperformed all reasonable expectations, and once again shown what a strong, well-resourced state party led by a dynamic and talented chair can achieve.
See you at 1230pm ET everyone, and congratulations again on what has become a truly historic and encouraging week! - Simon
