European investigators say U.S. evidence remains out of reach in active Epstein probes, as records of Trump’s past relationship with Epstein face renewed scrutiny.
European investigators following leads from the Epstein files say they are still waiting for formal assistance from the United States, while the Justice Department has publicly released nearly 3.5 million pages of material.
Officials in Poland and Latvia told The Washington Post that their requests for mutual legal assistance had received no response. Norway’s economic-crime authority, Økokrim, said its request had not yet been approved. Britain has sought unredacted records for an investigation involving Peter Mandelson, a former British ambassador to the United States, while Germany has asked the FBI to involve German authorities if relevant evidence emerges.
