Live Shopify sales bands suggest Meghan’s one-day Malala donation may come to a few hundred dollars, and that 17 of her big-ticket items are barely selling at all. Alison Boshoff joined The Royalist with the numbers, fresh off the page.
When Meghan announced on Sunday, halfway through International Day of the Girl, that 100 percent of the net proceeds from one day of As Ever jam and tea sales would go to the Malala Fund, the obvious question was: how much is that, actually?
Alison Boshoff has had a go at answering it, working from the sales figures that leaked out of the As Ever back end in January. I said on the show that I thought she had been pretty generous. It turned out she agreed with me, because by the time she joined us (halfway through, from a different computer, rather less beautifully lit than usual) she had found a new set of numbers, and they were worse.
