You’ve probably heard it your whole life. Too much. Too intense. Too fast. You talk quickly, think in branching lines, and can lose a whole night to an idea. You’ve had stretches of output that impressed, or worried, the people around you. Maybe you have an ADHD diagnosis, or an AuDHD one, or a gifted label from childhood that explained some of it and left the rest hanging.
So when you read a list of hypomania symptoms, something uncomfortable happens. Racing thoughts. Lots of ideas. High energy. Talking fast. Big plans. Most of it sounds like an ordinary Tuesday.
That leaves a hard question. If your mind has always run fast, how would you ever know if it started running too fast?
