Happy Friday.
Eleven days left!
Below I answered a whole bunch of your questions from the week that was. If I didn’t get to your question, make sure to tune in to my “Ask Chris Anything” livestream on my YouTube channel at 1 pm eastern!
As always, these are real questions from real subscribers to this newsletter.
Let’s open the mail.
Q: Did Vivek cost Ohio Republicans the Governor and Senate seat???
A: He just might have.
To be clear: Even before the Ramaswamy ad featuring Amy Acton’s estranged mother, he was an underdog in the race.
It’s why he and his campaign tried this ad in the first place. They knew it was a Hail Mary. And you don’t throw a Hail Mary when you are ahead — or even tied.
It has backfired. I think Ramaswamy will lose by more than he would have had he never run the ad.
The real question is whether the expected erosion in Ramaswamy’s numbers make it impossible (or really, really hard) for GOP Sen. Jon Husted to come from behind to beat former Sen. Sherrod Brown.
Here’s what I know: Husted did NOT want to spend this week disowning an ad by Ramaswamy. He needed to make up ground on Brown — and that is definitely not the way to do it.
Q: Hi Chris! Hope you can get some rest. My question is that Trump’s behavior at his rallies and press interviews seem to be even more unhinged than usual. I know that you have said in the past that he is not cognitively declining, but do you still believe this to be true?
