Last Monday, we told you to dump whatever mess was cluttering up your head.
This week, we go a step further: stop trusting your brain to remember everything.
Think about it.
That brilliant idea you had in the car? Gone.
That thing you needed to follow up on? What thing?
That note you swore you’d remember later? No idea.
In Part II, Chief Results Officer Blaine Oelkers gets into the idea of Mind Grabbing. That means catching ideas, to-dos, reminders, random flashes of brilliance, etc., the second they show up, then sticking them somewhere safe.
Try this today: Create one capture spot. Notes app. Legal pad. Voice memo. Hell, a cocktail napkin will suffice. Then use these 3 prompts:
What’s distracting me?
What do I not want to forget?
What needs to get done this week?
It’s not rocket science, but this will clear more mental static than another double espresso.
Blaine’s full article is up for grabs below. Check it out. Put it into practice. Then come back next week for part III.
