To win the information war against the Russian propaganda machine, we need vigorous measurements of our collective effectiveness.
For years, fueled by willpower, our Under Fire News team has pushed back against Russian propaganda. Sometimes we have won real victories, such as getting people to say “stop the Russian war machine” instead of “stop the killing.” This matters: It weakens the Kremlin’s attempt to equivocate between Ukraine and Russia. Saying “stop the Russian war machine” makes it clear that supporting Ukrainian victory is the way to STOP the war.
But these efforts are not enough. The experience of these past years of war shows that we need a better design. Do you recall how last spring “everyone” was saying Ukraine was winning—and how suddenly that narrative changed?
**We urgently need to boost our counter-propaganda work in a way that benefits the entire pro-Ukraine movement—using vigor, not vibes. **
To do this, we want to bring on an AI developer and an intelligence analyst who have been building a prototype database and dashboard for UFN. Together, the tools (a) track Russian narratives and (b) measure which pro-Ukraine narratives actually work. Every week!
We will make these tools available across the pro-Ukraine movement.
But we need your support. Would you subscribe here on Substack at $10 a month?
And if you want to help in a bigger way, **join our Information War Club at $100 a month. **We’ll send you our
Russia masters the propaganda war by overwhelming the free world with noise. With human intel fortified by metric-driven tools, we can identify and push the truths that Russian narratives are working to obscure. We can help the entire pro-Ukraine movement cut through the Russian noise. And when our efforts are not working, we will know, and we will adjust.
Let’s go!
To victory for free people,
